I lucked upon this hotel while on a visa run. The location can't be beat. It is next to a large shopping mall and very close to the Mukdahan bus terminal and border crossing with Laos.
The hotel has large rooms with comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, and kettles with coffee and tea. For the price, the rooms are very good.
The breakfast was different, but very good. It was my first time eating Vietnamese soup for breakfast but the staff patiently prepared it for me and I enjoyed it. The fruit and bread were also excellent.
Not all of the staff spoke English, but they made up for it with smiles and maximum effort. That's great customer service. In this part of the world the predominant language of tourists is Chinese, so English speakers must learn patience.
One more important aspect of this hotel is the "bird" theme. There are literally dozens of birds drawn, sketched, painted, and sewn everywhere in the hotel. This is done in such variety and beauty that it adds a great deal of positive atmosphere, energy, and joy to the hotel. There are little touches of smiles everywhere. Someone put a great deal of time and effort into creating this hotel. They deserve credit for their work.
Why? Traveling for business is often a chore and it can often become depressing. But staying at a hotel with such a wonderful motif can make a big difference. I wish that I could have stayed much longer than one night.
This hotel is something special and I hope that other guests can take the time to appreciate it.
