This hotel did not lived the expectations we had for 4 stars hotel, compared to other 4* hotels we have been on Greek islands.

One of the major decision point to choose this hotel was children water park. I have to say that it is build quite well, but the biggest issue was the cleaning of it. Both daughters got infections from those pools (one - eye, other - skin). We have stopped using swimming pools after that and eye has recovered fast in the sea, but skin infection for little one developed much worse later-on and doctor back home has confirmed the cause.

Positive - rooms are really spacious and clean. Just conditioner works in one room and over the night 1 room gets too cold, while other is still very warm. Staff in restaurant (most of them) and in bars are working well.

Food is not great, but OK. Not big choice, especially for vegetarians. Not making 4 stars bar, but can survive (not much to enjoy)... Problem is that water in restaurant and bar is really not tasty - only solution is to buy water bottles if you don't want to sink in alcohol.

If you look to the hotel beach photos you will see the sand, but as soon as you get into the water, there are only stones. Simply buy shoes and this is solved. We recommend to buy some board to enjoy the waves at the sea, which kids (including us) enjoyed more at the end than all swimming pools.

All and all - if that would be 3+ starts hotel with appropriate price - would be fantastic. But clearly not 4 stars and is overpriced (i mean what we paid for the travel agency).

I booked this trip for myself and my 3 kids aged 7,9 and 11 via Thomas Cook. The kids chose it for the waterpark which kept them entertained all week, it was perfect. The accommodation was large and clean and everything was so close at hand. With a food rating of just over 50% we were not expecting too much but we were pleasently surprised, it was fresh plentiful and generally tasted good, but for a fortnight may become a little repetitive. try the a la carte which was badly advertised and we didnt find it until we were on our way home, or a trip into Kos for a little retail therapy and al fresco dining near the port. Downsides? getting a sunbed and the rude Germans/Russians along with the terrible evening entertainment again all in German, avoid it like the plague.

Room tip: accommodation is on 2 floors, go for the top floor as most rooms can see the sea, but pigeon noise from the roof may be heard.

Having read previous reviews, if you are like me, you are probably confused as to whether this would be a fantastic holiday or you would encounter lots of rude staff etc. I have to say that this was a great holiday. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids aged 16 & 11.

Firstly the staff (as some reviewers have mentioned these before) - we found virtually all the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. We found that simple politeness and courtesy went a long way with the staff. As others have said Abbas & Iqbal (the lifeguards for the wave pool & slides pool) were outstanding - yes they really do know every childs name and engage with all the kids (and with the parents as well!) - they are also really good lifeguards - they are very, very firm in applying the rules but do it an a very, very fair way so you can be sure that your kids will be safe while playing in the water. We also found the barman in the lobby bar really good - as soon as I got to the bar he was pouring my "usual" drinks! Equally the maids were fantastic - the kids loved the way the room was so well done by them and we found the restaurant staff to be charming & friendly and, most of the time, they were very efficient in clearing the plates etc (a couple of times it was slow but the manager - Tassoss - was on hand!)

Next the food - we really enjoyed the food - yes I expect that if you are here for 14 days you will find the same stuff on the buffet - but the salads were great, the desserts were fantastic and there was always a range of meat/fish. Our kids (at 16 & 11) were happy with the food although, apparently, the Spag Bol wasn't very nice! Younger kids will find pizza, nuggets, fish fingers etc.

Pools etc - these were fantastic! The wave pool goes every hour but I would suggest that you take your own rubber rings as there are not a huge number of these and you may not get one every time - but inflatables are allowed in this pool so take a lilo &/or rubber ring! The slides pool is also great and our 11 year old son spent plenty of time on these. Turning to the sun loungers - yes this is predominently a German resort (I would say 70% German to 30% British) so you will need to join the German game of towels on sunbeds! However, we always went to reserve our sunbeds before going for breakfast at about 9-9.30 and found free loungers. My tip would be to go to the beach loungers because you can either use these at the beach (as we did - the beach is right beside the wave pool) or move them to beside the pool. Or you can get up early or leave the bars late the night before & reserve them overnight (up to you)!!! Quick tip - between 1pm & 3pm the pools are very quiet (as the restaurant is busy)

The Beach - here is the one possible downside - if you are after a golden sandy beach then be ready for an anti-climax! Yes the beach is sandy at the top - this lasts about 25-30 feet when it then becomes a shelving beach to the seafront which is very stony and, as you enter the sea, you will find underfoot to be smooth "boulders" about twice the size of a tennis ball. The sea has great waves though. If you want a sandy beach you either need to walk about 150 yards to the left where there is a reasonably sandy beach or travel elsewhere in Kos.

Out and about - the resort is away from the main towns (which we liked) so if you want to be able to walk to a street of bars then you will be disappointed. But for us the location was great - it is a 15 minute bus trip to Kos town (5 Euros and they go hourly) and 8 euro taxi trip to Tingaki. We also did the "Greek Evening" which was fun - this was in a village in the hills called Zia. If you are going on these trips with kids you need to be aware that 12 is the kids age - after that you pay adult price. So for most of the trips (for us) it would be about 140-150 euros. You can also rent bikes, cars and 2 seater "quads" from the front of the hotel.

We didnt do any of the animation stuff - but I believe this was aimed at the German guests although some of the British guests said they found it entertaining!

Rooms - we had a fantastic family room. It had a main room (with a very large double bed) and a second room (2 beds - one double & one single) with a bathroom and a "lobby" with a fridge. Both bedrooms had balconies and the whole "apartment" was air conditioned beautifully. If you have a late flight you can do a late checkout but it costs 90 euros and you need to be out at 6pm. We left at 5.20pm and used the luggage room to store our main luggage from about 11am when we left the room (we kept all our passports etc with us as we enjoyed the sun & pool for the day) - and we booked a "shower room" for 3pm. You can book this 2 days before you leave and get a room for 30 minutes to freshen up - I would recommend this (& it is free!)

So overall we were delighted and would absolutely recommend this holiday to anyone with kids (unless you want a sandy beach or a busy town within walking distance)
