we had dined here previously and remembered how good it was. Our memories served us well as we had a truly excellent meal here on this occasion too. It's a very beautiful dining room overlooking some flowering shrubs. The service was very professional and the food from the starter to the dessert could not be faulted. A most pleasant and enjoyable evening.

We went to eat at this restaurant on Christmas eve. The staff was so kind and so attentive. The food was deliciously exquisite, beautifully decorated and well put together. We had a six course meal that was unforgettable. This has now become one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The fact that this restaurant is in the middle of the countryside is wonderful

Nearly all was good, from pleasant interior to good service and convincing food. Worth a detour, you will not be disappointed. On a very enjoyable level just under one star Michelin.

This is a rustic and elegant stone building set back off a quiet country road with a pleasant garden to look out onto. This meal was Sunday lunch and pretty busy. The décor tasteful and service friendly and efficient. There were two options; 65 euros with a fish course and 51 without. The choice was limited. The amuse bouche sardine pate so nothing to exclaim over there. Carpaccio of bass good. The advertised chair of crab was n/a and langoustines substituted. For such a limited menu anyway, I thought that wasn't acceptable as there were plenty of crabs available elsewhere. The 5 langoustines were ready to eat and OK size wise but there was a dressing/sauce over them which was just a rose-marie concoction and could have come out of a jar such was the lack of flavour. The fish course was monkfish in a vol-au-vent. That was good. Mains fillet of beef and duckling. These were good portions. An in-between palate cleanser - Breton version of a 'Trou Normande'.apple granite with Lambig. Nice touch but too sweet for me. Desserts OK.
There was a very good selection of half-bottles and we took a Muscadet to double up as an aperitif and a Bordeaux to be carrying on with. The total was 150 euros for everything I've detailed. For a meal such as it was it was just too much. The langoustines were not acceptable and although the food good quality, the over-all food had no originality or complex cooking procedures to set it apart from many places who are charging less.
La Forge is open some weekdays at lunchtime and it may be a good idea to try lunch and get the ambience for less expenditure as it is a very pleasant place.

My husband and I were staying nearby and decided to drop in for a meal. The food is excellent - the beef I had was top class. The menu is fairly limited - but what they serve is excellent. The atmosphere was lovely, and they know their wines!!
Not good for kids - but perfect for quiet meal for 2.
