Just returned from a very relaxing stay at this hotel. Very happy with apartment which was very clean and had all the equipment you need for a comfortable stay. Beds were comfortable and the air con was good. Lots of storage space. Quiet in resort so never any issues with sun beds. Staff super friendly and helpful. Ordered a car through the hotel and had no issues with this. No issues with sewage - new mayor is dealing with this quickly. Small beach with beach chairs that you take on the beach. Beach/pool towels are supplied.

Quite a bit to do around hotel (hotels & bars at St Lawrence gap) but it’s not a party resort. Crystal Waters bar to the left of the hotel on the beach is a must for barbecue & drinks (barbecue 101) on a Sunday afternoon (Mr Impact, disco & dancing) and is great for people watching and cheap (happy hour is good.... you may not make it out that night though! Worth visiting the beach during the day and seeing the turtles in the bay.

Tiki beach and bar is within walking distance of the hotel and is worth a visit as well as getting on the bus to Browns beach.

Well worth a treat is the Cat & Fiddle Catamaran trip and the Catch 22 restaurant (lobster). There’s a virgin kiosk (anyone can use) in St Lawrence gap that you can book all excursions through.

Quite expensive to shop for provisions so suggest taking the essentials with you... tea/coffee/ketchup etc.

First trip to Barbados & we loved it. Already thinking of going back.

An excellent hotel. Big room with 2 dbl beds, great spacious bathroom, ample hanging space in double wardrobes and lots of drawer space. Great, and I mean a great balcony with fantastic sea views. Great on site restaurant with friendly staff and reasonable prices. On the Rasta Bus route which was great for a cheap trip into Bridgetown. All staff were great, very helpful and had good laughs with the guys on reception. Absolutely loved it. Great for couples and families.

Room Tip: 2nd floor and above best views

Yet, another fantastic stay at one of the best resorts on the Island (17 years, 18 visits and counting). The In-house team are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, name badges are not worn which is a real shame, but Suzanne, Carlton, Carl, or Jerry are always keen to help. Rosemary runs the hotel, however, she leaves it to her fantastic personnel (all ten years plus) to make your stay special. The rooms are massive and all sea facing with massive balcony, the resort is on the beach with a private pool! Every room has, large fridge, microwave, cooking rings (essentially a large kitchen. Plus two queen beds and excellent self regulated air con. The pool bar and onsite restaurant are open from early morning to early morning, if no one is behind the bar give reception a nudge and Nicki will appear (as if by magic).
Before you arrive you have to book Cool Runnings (internet search email Christine), spend 5 hours (10:00 to 15:00) on one of the best Catamarans on the Island, swim, snorkel, eat great food and enjoy lots of rum and great draft beer (free bar) the on board team make this a fantastic and memorable experience, take lots of sun tan cream and don't forget to tip on your way off the boat!
Restaurants are plentiful but your trip would not be complete without a fantastic meal at Champers (walking distance and very special with a sea front table) or The Lone Star (taxi). Coral Sands is a short walk from the 'St Lawrence Gap' (5 mins), lots of good restaurants (the best by far is Primo Bar and Bistro (owned by Cin Cin (one of the best restaurants on the island, (book a table online)))). If you fancy a couple of other 'talked about' restaurants, try Harlequins (value and in the Gap 5 mins walk) or the Lone Star (taxi)
The in-house team can book on site but always good to pre book, don't forget to visit the supermarket on arrival (5 mins walk for main supermarket and $5 taxi back or a small hypermarket 1 min walk) fill the fridge with fine wine, great beer, bagels and cream cheese for breakfast and occasional salads for lunch.
If in the evening you feel like a touch of fast food to take back to room try the Lucky Horse Shoe (1 min walk) or try the Chicken Barn (1 min walk), does not look much but the food is really tasty...

Room Tip: All rooms are sea facing and on the beach....

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon after never having been to Barbados before and picked this hotel since it seemed to be a good deal for an oceanfront view. The view was very nice. The hotel and room itself is average. The service is very poor with the exception of Carlton at the front desk who was the only employee who was friendly and helpful. Most every other employee made us feel like we were intruding. I don't know if they don't like Americans or what. They are in need of good management to run the place and improve customer service. The cleaning staff always did a good job. The area around the hotel is not that great. There was a bad sewage smell nearby and we were told they were "draining the swamp" and not to swim nearby since it was going into the ocean so we never went in the water there. We spent most of our time at other beaches. There is a restaurant onsite but it never appeared to be busy, the curtains were always closed so we weren't sure if it was even open. They really need to open it up and make it more inviting. After having spent time in most parts of the island during our weeklong stay there, we would not come back here or to that area of the island.

My sister and I just returned home from a two week vacation in Barbados and we stayed at Coral Sands. This is a review of the Coral Sands Beach Resort and not a comment on the sewage problems or the Sargassum moss that has invaded the Caribbean. Those problems are for another forum. We go to Barbados every year and this was our first time staying at Coral Sands......and it was fantastic. The rooms are very spacious and very well cared for. The decor is very tropical and kept in top shape. There is a large beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. Our room had two double beds, a glass top table with four chairs, a Large TV, three separate areas with lots of drawer space. The bathroom had two sinks, two separate cupboards with shelves as well as a places to hang clothes. The shower and toilet are in a separate adjoining room. There is also a safe in the room. If you don’t find you have enough places to store your “stuff” you are packing way too much. There is a kitchen with fridge, microwave and four burner cooktop. Everyone we had dealings with at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. They also have an elevator which is a bonus. The pool is very well looked after. There is a bar by the pool and you can order food there as well. Looking forward to staying there again.
