We (husband and wife) have been regular customers of Three Ways House Hotel for over 10 years have attended many of their Pudding Club evenings. Our most recent visit was on July 23rd 2022.

The event was hosted by Jason who worked hard during the whole evening to bring a sense of fun to what can seem a surreal evening if you are new to the Pudding Club (up to 64 guests devouring 7 different types of puddings is not your average dining experience). The puddings were the stars of the evening and Jason was keen to remind us all that we were to dig in and sample as many portions as we could.

We think that we have sampled in excess of 60 different puddings over the years - a reminder that I must update our spreadsheet :) - and the quality last October was sensational.
We're pleased to say that the puddings on this visit were all excellent except for the Chocolate Mousse (who knew too much cocoa can be a bad thing?) Standout pudding for us was the Sticky Toffee & Date (it is always excellent). It was good to see puddings we had not seen at the club before, such as the Apple Syrup Sponge, Lemon Sponge and Raspberry Eton Mess.

There was a choice of three light main meals before the puddings and we both opted for the teriyaki salmon and vegetable rice which was excellent. The glass of wine in the lounge before the start was a nice change :)

We liked the flow and pace of the evening though this was helped by just having about 30 guests on this particular evening.

The hospitality industry continues to find it tough to return to business as it was prior to Covid but Jason and his small team did a great job. We had a fabulous time and look forward to returning again for another pudding fix :)

This was our first visit to the hotel and we were looking forward to our stay.
Our room was on the ground floor and over looked the garden which was lovely, but that was the best bit about the room.
It was a small double with a inappropriately large television screen attached to the wall that you had to negotiate round to get into the bed down one side.

The bed was dreadful! Enough said.

The bathroom was narrow but okay, however, the loo was rammed up against the bath with very little room for manoeuvre. Be warned if you are not very agile.
The carpet had stains in a number of places. The usual tea and coffee was provided and individual packets of biscuits but there were no bottles of water or a fan for the hot weather.

We ate in the hotel for dinner and although the menu was limited, we enjoyed the food.
Breakfast was plentiful.

The young waiting staff were friendly and relaxed, an asset.

For the price we paid it definitely was a disappointment - a shame.

Would go back if there was some money spent on upgrading the place and the food. Stunning location and friendly staff. Beds are comfortable and could be so much better with a little investment. Pleasant garden which needs looking after. Pudding club sounded a lot of fun. We did not take part but would consider it in the future.

I stayed here with my partner on a Friday evening and everything exceeded my expectations. The hotel has a quaint feel and our room was spacious, charming and clean. Regrettably, we didn’t try “The Pudding Club” but as it was a very hot day, we were able to watch from the windows and it appeared to be a lovely dining experience.
Breakfast was amazing! There was a wide range of options including fruit, yoghurt and a full English. The staff were fantastic, very warm, friendly and attentive. Special mention to Debbie, Sammy and Mike.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We will be back soon!

Room tip: Don’t listen to the negative reviews!

We stayed in the Oriental Pudding Room at an extra cost on thier standard rooms, however the room was dirty, dated and falling apart. There were holes in the walls, the bath panel was falling off and mildew on the taps. The hotel itself is set in a lovely location, however it is in need of some updating. I understand that covid has hurt businesses but there is no excuse for a room that is charged at £279 a night with a pudding club evening included to be in the state that we found ours to be. The Pudding Club itself was rushed and main courses took an hour and half to come out which then meant the tasting of the puddings (the main event) felt rushed and you didnt get to enjoy as many of them as you would of perhaps liked. We are not ones for leaving reviews as everybody has thier own expectations but I really do feel that this needed to be shown as for the money that people spend on a nights stay it is not acceptable to think the standard they offer is ok.

Room tip: Go with a standard room don't upgrade to a pudding room it isn't worth the extra cost.
