We were there in May and had a lovely time. The rooms and views were so amazing! Staff was so accommodating and great room service. The bar was a fun place to meet new friends and have some fun entertainment. Not many places where you have live music and models all in one night.
**Do take bug spray if you are a person that gets bitten by mosquitos or no see ums. I was eaten alive one night but my husband didn't get a single bite.
Beaches were fantastic but laying by the pool with internet and a bar was also great! I hope this place wasn't too hurt by the recent hurricane! I'd love to go back.

Absolutely beautiful place. Brilliant apartments, clean and spacious.
We had our own butler who couldn't have done more to help.
Maid in twice a day, and mini bar stocked daily.
Good choice of restaurants.
Only yards from beach and pool.
Only downside was the mosquitoes, bitten everywhere, wasn't waned about how bad they would be.
Would not hesitate to go back.

After a six hour car journey from sensational Havana to Cayo Santa Maria , we arrived at the Buena vista resort , remote at the far end of the island . Our room was outstanding overlooking the ocean where the sun set blissfully every evening, everything from butler service ,champagne and rose scented baths!! There are three beaches all beautiful but only one you can swim in as the water is far too shallow and more like a mangrove in the others.
At first our experience with the food was such a dissapointment the breakfast and lunch time snacks were limited and stale, my husband was not a happy boy☹️This along with early morning and early evening mosquito invasion from hell, with me ending up in a clinic to get medication, things were not looking good!!!!!
Taking in to account that this is an up and coming island that needs attention, there is no where to visit outside the resort , only other resorts , which are not great so you are stuck where you are!
I have never in my life with all the places I've visited experienced such exceptional customer service to turn a dissapoining situation into an amazing experience!!!
Delesandro the manager went over and above his duties to deliver the most delicious meals , attention to detail, assuring fresh food and produce were available, stunning in room breakfast and a departing lunch to die for, our anniverary lobster meal out in the ocean surpassed all expectation thank you so much!!!
A huge thanks to all the staff especially Armando and Belkis who's compassion and attention to detail were exemplary!
We will definitely return , if our friends Larry and Gill are reading this , you are two awesome people who made our trip!! Batton, down the hatches we are coming to canada
If your in two mind about visiting this hotel, don't be !! DO it, no where will you get such hospitality and generous of spirit people , the reps from the holiday place were magnificent too!! Book your trip now
Huge thanks from mr mrs Kempxxxxxxx

Excellent place to stay, a true hide out spot, with unique joy that you won’t find at big resorts. Friendly room service with plus. All meals serviced to your table or room from available menu choice. All employees will go extra mile to make your stay memorable, … Maria, Luis, Andreas, Ernest, Lester, Augusto, Evette and others…. Entertaining choice of shore line, from shallow bay, to corals and open ocean to swim. Nice place for snorkeling, take your camera with you, all kind species (please check for 9 dangerous coral reef creatures, as you might see some of them). Thanks to Melia Buenavista Team, will visit again. Stay safe from Irma.

We finished off our Cuban holiday with 4 nights at the Melia Buenavista.

We arrived after a long drive from Havana which included a fabulous tour of Santa Clara and Remidios.

On arrival the check in was efficient and effective, and we were met with a glass of cava which the obligatory glacier cherry (not sure why!) and our butler. He kindly gave us the option of a short tour round and had booked evening meal.

We had booked the royal suite and were not disappointed with the view the size and the outdoor space. Was nice to have a reasonably stocked mini bar and included (which wasn't the case at Melia Level Cape Verde).

Our overall experience of dinner on all our nights was very good. We ate in both the restaurants. The food was different and well cooked. The attentiveness of the staff was excellent and their desire to learn and converse in English for a few of the newer members first rate. We were disappointed that despite a long wine list they didn't stock much, so we ended up with the house wines, which were pleasant. Our advice would be only list what you have in stock. Only on one occasion was the service a little slow and inattentive and this was merely due to staff numbers for the tables they were servicing. More formal allocation of tables to staff would I am sure help.

The tranquility and peacefulness of the hotel which was assisted given it is relatively small made for a very restful and relaxing experiencing. The ability to have choices around 2 pool areas and 3 beaches which were all quiet was great. I love to swim so the pools aren't designed for this but the large beach with the bright coloured fish swimming was perfect.

Many people have commented on the standard service and quality of the pool and beach bar staff and we would echo that great drinks with a smile and looked after wherever you were. The pizzas made by the pool are delicious, from someone that doesn't like pizzas back home!

The breakfast served in the Ranch was standard and the same each day, which just about got boring on the last day. We had a plate of mango each day which was to die for but only knew this having seen another couple having it. The lunches were different each day and the fish was wonderful lobster basa and local white fish. The service was first rate.

We spent one morning walking up the beaches to the neighbouring Melias which was a gorgeous walk and nice to have a drink there, and looked like a great family hotel.

The evening we spent on the beach watching the sunset with a violinist and champagne was wonderful. And being able to do this from our room given its location.

I am now listening to British people morning about the food, no wonder we have such a bad reputation! Think they have forgotten they've come at an island of a developing company.

We did have a massive issue with Mosquitos this time which we understand was unusual for the resort. We knew the island wasn't geared up for this given our reading beforehand and the hotel did try and put out repellents but it was too little too late and this needs to be improved.

On our last night our butler service rang and organised transfers to airport, that was a nice touch but overall we were disappointed with the butler service, our experience in past has been a more attentive service and on a few occasions we had to chase.

I used the spa which was of an ok standard but not the best the treatment was good but the overall experience wasn't wonderful, and we had credit for the spa but I was only told that they didn't apply for the treatment I had.

Overall we really enjoyed our time here the weather the people and water making it wonderful for us. We enjoyed the food, especially the fish.
