It was our first time horse riding and we joined the 40min ride. They lend us some leather boots and waterproof long pants (in case of biting insects) which i thought was a nice touch. After learning the basics in a paddock, the guide lead our group of 4 onto the trek. The trek was through a bush trail with some up and down hill but it wasn't too difficult, recommended for first timers. The guide was very friendly and spoke some English, she was telling us the temperament of each horse as we were riding. The views were ok as trees were obstructing the view most of the way. The guide helped us with photos after the ride while we were on the horse which was very nice.

Nice 40 minutes for novice horse riders. Horses are very mild and self going through the course, thus you don't need to worry about riding. Enjoy the snow mountain and the lake view on the hill. Don't forget to prepare gloves in the winter time.

The staffs are kind, and they even provided pickup service from the hotel! It took about 20 minutes from Sun Palace hotel.

I did the 40 min "lake" trek. The location is 6km up the main highway west of lake toya. It is a very small ranch. The staff were extremely friendly and kind. They spoke some English which was nice. We did a few rounds of the paddock then went on an uphill trek through a narrow path. Compared to treks I have done in other countries this was a little boring as there was no variety or opportunity to increase speed/trot. The views were nice. It cost about 4600 yen. I probably wouldn't recommend but I wish the ranch well!

The guides were friendly and spoke English. The horses were well looked after. The guides understood the character and personality of each and every single horse. The trek allowed you to have a mountain top view of Lake Toya. Good experience.
