Drive the Aso milk road and finish at Daikanbo. This is a spectacular viewing point overlooking the entire Aso area. You can also learn about Volcanic Caldara

I was blown away by the majestic mountains and view. It was simply stunning! I love this place and will go back if I am nearby again.

Yes it is worth a short visit and not difficult to find by car. A seven to ten minute walk up from the souvenir shop. The view can also depend on the weather.

Both the rental car gps and my phone google map failed to correctly locate the place, so pls open your eyes to look out for the signage along the road, which are quite obvious .

Parking is free, quite a few tourist buses stop here too.
The actual view point is some walking distance from the carpark, look out for the toilet sign which will lead you to the start of the path to the lookout point.

Surrounding view is quite impressive , and you can see far out on a clear day.
There is a smaller walking path near the stone monument where you can walk out further.
