We have eaten here often before but this time it was very disappointing. The calamari we had to start were so over cooked it could have been anything! I had the sea bass on noodles, l think the fish had been deep fried as the sides were curled over and not much fish left to eat costing £16. My husbands schnitzel was tough and had not been beaten flat. What has happened to the chef?
Lovely cosy pub and staff.

First trip out in a long time last night for dinner at the large beer garden in the St Mabyn inn. Food and beer excellent - great service which was table service for food and drinks - nice touches were a big fire pit burning logs which made it cosy and some tables had a roofing area so it would protect you from rain - plenty of food choices from burgers - fresh muscles amd steaks - will definitely go back #stmabyninn #foodinbodmin #countrypubcornwall #pubsnearbodmin

Having spent a day on the Camel Trail, we were very pleased to have found this lovely rural inn. Friendly service, tasty food and a great view overlooking the countryside. Table service was a blessing, think it should continue but customers must tip for the privilege.

The St Mabyn Inn is our local pub and we’re so lucky to have it! The landlords are brilliant, and you’ll get a warm welcome whether you’re local or on holiday. There’s a roaring fire and a great selection of Cornish draft beers and spirits available. They have been very Covid secure, abiding by the rules of table service and mask wearing. There is sanitiser as you enter and a one way system around the pub. Lovely beer garden out the back that over looks surrounding countryside.

Booked to eat here whilst on holiday in the area. Looking at the pictures of the food we were all really looking forward to eating there. Firstly I booked to eat in the restaurant but found we had been shoved on a table in the bar a particular pet hate of mine . Took a long time to get a drink when we received menus choice was very limited and poor I couldn’t see anything that resembled the delicious cuisine that was advertised on their website. Food took a long time to arrive and at best was only mediocre, shame because I had been really looking forward to eating there . Won’t rush back.
