Separated by the COVID-19 pandemic for more than half a year, my fiancee and I went on a two week trip to heal ourselves and the final part of which is the four-night-stay with the Hidden Valley in Shangri-la. And thanks for Sonam and Kelsang for making this memorable.
Sonam, Kelsang, Lao-ye and all the HV staffs are the most valuable part of the resort. They crafted a bespoke itinerary and implemented it in an exceptional level that was far beyond our expectation. And we felt integrated into this big local family.
Thanks to their effort, we have had of the best of the local experiences. Our tour guide Kelsang has a deep understanding of the Tibetan culture and specialized in the Tibetan Buddhism, and his words has added a layer of glare to those temples we visited. The manager Sonam was in charge of our overall plan and brought us delightful experiences., among which I would like to highlight the Yak series. I would like to recommend below to you (rank according to our preferences) Yak pizze/hot-pot/dumpling/pasta/cheese/steak/milk-tea.
Aside from the people, the other pillar of the resort should be the 'Go Local' concept. From guest room, staffs, travel plan to every single dish we have, they are sourced locally and hence cultivate the deep authentic experience. Such a concept has brought spirit to the resort and made it a pearl in the Bisong valley.
