I really enjoyed my first stay at salt Rock hotel, the one thing I love is that all the rooms are sea facing and I'm guaranteed a great view of the ocean, unlike certain places in the nearby town of ballito that offer sea view only to find out that on arrival only certain rooms have a sea view. The rooms are well equipped but let's face it you are here to spend time on the beach not in your room , so the limited dstv package is more than enough and the rooms are well equipped with what is needed. The walk to the beach is almost non existent as the beach is right there, the pool area is large which is good in those busy times, and the food and restaurant is top notch, probably some of the best scones I've ever had.

As per other reviews I have read, I can confirm that the rooms are relatively basic, but comfortable and could do with an update - or perhaps it just adds to the relaxed atmosphere. In saying that we did not spend much time in our room as the communal areas were great. The service was outstanding and the food was superb. I would opt for the a la carte option for dinner - the curries are brilliant. Once at the hotel, there is no need to leave as the food, beach, pool and weekend entertainment are fantastic.

Went to this hotel out of nostaligia, spent most of my youth there in the days of Ralf Hullet .
The view is super and the beach as well , breakfast good but dinner wanting .
The bedrooms are somewhat shabby and are not "fresh".

We were lucky enough to have from 20th March to 31st March 2017 in the timeshare units at this hotel. It is 100 steps from the beach where you can still find shells. The units are clean and very comfortable. The staff at this resort go out of their way to help you and all the hotel facilities are available for time share users. The hotel is famous for their fabulous curry and a lovely deck to sit on and watch the beautiful ocean. The hotel is still privately owned by the Hulett family and they keep it in the old world charm while still having all the modern facilities. Only problem is the internet connection. What a place....fabulous.

Room Tip: all rooms are sea facing with fabulous views but do ask for air conditioned rooms

The drive to the hotel through the lush of trees and plants, the colonial décor and atmosphere, the beautiful scenery from your room window, interrupted and the sound of the waves make it a pleasant stay at the hotel.

The dinner and breakfast buffet is a great selection, great place for business travelling and for families with small kids or surfing kids.

Room Tip: Business travelling chose rooms on the sixth floor, the view is amazing. Family room are on the second floor with sufficient space.
