Lovely hotel just outside Arenas (within walking distance). Very comfortable rooms and superb food both at breakfast and dinner, (a choice of 2 or 3 courses in the evening or al a carte if preferred). Prices are very reasonable even with the awful Euro rate. Owner and staff very welcoming and helpful, lovely jar of honey as a gift when we left. Stayed for a week and would definitely return. Yes the stream and river can be noisy but never interrupted my sleep!

I used this hotel as a base to explore the areas of the Picos de Europa that are near to Las Arenas. The hotel is located on the main road leading into Las Arenas, and has a large parking area that is very convenient if you're driving. My room was at one end of the hotel, and overlooked a small waterfall coming from the hillside, which was very pleasant. Despite the proximity to the main road, road noise was not a problem at least for a room on the side of the hotel.

The room was a reasonable size and very clean, with a bathroom that was good enough (the shower sprayed water all over the window ledge, which didn't seem a great design). Breakfast was included and very nice indeed, including jamon, fresh orange juice, and loads of delicious home-made cakes. The dinner menu looked very nice, but we didn't eat dinner in the hotel.

From the hotel it was about a 10-15 minute drive for the trailhead for the Cares Gorge, and about 30-45 minutes up to the Covadonga area. The hotel is not located centrally within Las Arenas, it's about a 20 minute walk to the town centre, initially along a road that has no footpath. The road is dark at night, so a good idea to take your head-torch if you'll be out late in Las Arenas.

Lovely setting, beautiful views of mountains from the windows, just on the outskirts of the town. Excellent room (plenty of space) and restaurant, very helpful and accommodating hotel manager who speaks good English; provided print-outs for places we enquired about. Interesting hotel and gardens/grounds in the foothills, a short walk (<10 mins) or even shorter drive to Arenas village centre. Accommodation and food/evening menu was excellent; excellent value. Fantastic desserts. English translation of menu provided. Manager couldn't have done more to help with our queries. Weather forecast printed out for each day at reception. Easy to find off main road. Plenty of parking. Plenty of space to sit outside.

What a place! Large room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Quiet. We had two unique problems to resolve, and immediately got help from the family staff to take care of the issues. Good breakfast included in the room rate. Gourmet restaurant at normal prices. Best food we had in 2 weeks in northern Spain. Excellent location for our hiking in the Cares Gorge.
