We had a fabulous stay at this hotel. I stayed here for a week at the beginning of May with my husband, 87 year old mother and 8 year old granddaughter. From the moment we arrived we were made truly welcome. The bedrooms were lovely and kept spotlessly clean and my mother was allocated an accessible room. The views from the dining room were absolutely stunning, the food amazing and the restaurant staff fantastic! My mother who has mobility problems found the hotel easy to get around and loved the fact that she was able to walk into Cannigione everyday as there is a board walk which runs from just outside the hotel into the village. Overall this was a fantastic hotel with wonderful staff in a lovely position.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. The grounds were beautiful. The check in was swift and easy. We were then showed to our suite with sea view.

I have to admit that I was not as impressed with our view and the room in general. First, the view did technically include the sea, but it was mainly of the roof of the main building. Second, the room was clean, but it was mostly dark. The noise also travelled from the neighbours. Every morning at 6am we woke to the noise of the neighbours opening their drapes (metal scraping) and the shutters. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable.

We were, however, very impressed by the dinner and lovely service. The food was really spectacular. We weren't as impressed with the breakfast.

The bar usually had entertainment in the evenings (singers, piano players), which was lovely, and the drinks were good.

There are a lot of families. We weren't aware just how many kids there would be. Most were well behaved, but others...

All in all its a lovely place. The nearby town is a great place to visit.

We have nothing but great memories from our week here at Cala di Falco. The breakfast was great, with so much variety. One morning we had to wait exceptionally long (more than 20 minutes) for coffee to be served at our table, and by that time we were finished and our 1 1/2 year old daughter was ready to go, so we left. But they have a coffee/cappuccino machine, as well. The dinner was outstanding, every night, with so much variety and so many different options and choices from night to night. There were always consistent options available, but the main entrees and items at the fresh pasta station were never the same. One night was even a sushi night, and it was delicious.

The grounds were beautiful, as was the pool. The drinks were delicious, and the interior bar always quickly provided olives, chips and peanuts whenever we order a round of Aperol Spritzes.

The suite we had was well-appointed, with a nice, spacious terrace. Not extremely modern, but everything was in fine condition and the accommodations were exactly what we needed for our toddler.

The nearby beach was ideal for what we needed with our daughter, as it was close by, clean and the water was crystal clear and safe. And hotel guests were able to get free sun loungers and umbrellas. It was even good for snorkeling, with lots of fish.

There was also a great little playground on site, and lots of space for our daughter to run around.

Finally, the Kids Club. The staff members that ran the Kids Club were all wonderful. Even though our toddler was only willing to do the Kids Club one day (the other day she wanted mommy and daddy too much), there were great activities, lots of toys and excellent supervision. There's also a small, shallow kids' pool just outside of the Kids Club room, which is nice.

The small town of Cannigione is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel, with access to shops, restaurants and cafes.

The Tanca Manna beach is about a 10 minute drive from the hotel, and we loved it. Lots of toys for little ones, a nice little beach cafe with drinks, snacks, fresh fruit and sandwiches, and you can rent 2 sun loungers and an umbrellas for around 20 Euro.

All in all, we really enjoyed our time at Cala di Falco, and would definitely come back.

Overall first impression of the resort was very good, lovely settings in beautiful gardens, cosy bungalows, feeling of privacy. We stayed on a half board basis - the dinners were excellent (variety, taste), breakfasts were a little repetitive - I would expect more types of cheese, vegatables, but the quality was good. The beach was very close, more or less accross the street, relatively small, but no problems with sun beds/umbrellas, the beach service always took care of them and placed them according to our request. The sea was calm, very clean. A small hindrance - in order to get to the beach, you had to step down two steps, which were so high, it was really difficult to step down or up on the way back, if you are a little older or have even slight mobility problems. I do not understand why the hotel didn´t take care of a simple thing like this. Another bigger issue is that there is no shower on the beach, so you are not able to wash the salty water or sand untill you get back to the hotel. And even so, if you return back to your room and want to take shower (clean at least the sand of your feet before returning to the room) the only shower at the pool area is a hosepipe you have to hold in your hands, simply no standard shower you would expect by the pool. What concerns the pool area as such, we wanted to stay there once or twice, but there was total lack of umbrellas. Although there were lots of sunbeds, on one side of the pool there were no umbrellas at all and on the other huge umbrellas which could be perhaps shared by bigger groups (families/friends), but itˇs difficult for two strange people to simply lie under one umbrella with a strange couple or group. I totally do not understand such philosophy of the hotel. The staff was on one side very nice, helpful and polite, but on the other side we twice encountered a problem with payments for drinks at dinner, the receipt included items we did not order. Although mistakes may happen sometimes, twice in a range of three days is a little bit too much for a hotel of this category and what´s more, it required several requests from our side to receive the money back on our account. The surroundings of the hotel are very nice, it is calm, but very near to the small town with plenty of restaurants, cafes, a marina, tourist shops, etc. As stated at the beginning - overall impression was fine, but due to several details which make the difference, I will not choose this hotel again.

Room Tip: seems all the rooms are fine

Dear Eva K,
I would like to thank you for having taken the time to give us your impressions about your holiday at the Resort Cala di Falco and for having appreciated the location, the gardens and the layout of the structure within them which guarantees privacy and tranquility. I was also very happy to read your excellent opinion about our cuisine and the beach in front of the Hotel, as well as the kindness and willingness to help of all our staff. Thank you once again on behalf of myself and all my team.
However I was sorry that not all of your expectations were satisfied and if we have made mistakes in some way I can only offer my personal apologies.

Let me address the points you mention, as they appear.
• As far as access to the beach is concerned, there is a slight drop from the level of the road. While this may cause no difficulties for the majority of guests, it may pose a problem for the elderly or those with motor difficulties. Unfortunately, given that the land is owned by the local council, we are unable to make any modifications.
• Poolside umbrellas are available as can be seen in the official photos of the hotel, the brochure or the official website. Clearly there are not as many umbrellas as there are guests, so in high season or at peak times it may be the case that there are none free. However, as you rightly stated, these are very large umbrellas, which allow more than one guest to take advantage of them.

I am very sorry that there was a misunderstanding with the payment for the drinks, which was fortunately resolved in a positive way.
Despite these small inconveniences, I sincerely hope that your overall positive impressions of the Resort Cala di Falco and its services may be the incentive that will make you return on holiday in the future. It will be our pleasure to satisfy your desires as far as possible and to pamper you as is our custom in the conviction that your impressions will be further improved.

In the hope that you will accept my invitation, I offer you best regards from the Resort Cala di Falco.

Individual bungalows, serviced daily, set in garden surroundings, large dining room for self service buffet style meals, (only problem was keeping the food hot) but plentiful, good choice and good quality. Large pool with life guard on duty. Private beach 3 minutes walk from hotel, with sun beds and life guard on duty.
Friendly staff, local amenities, many bars and cafes within walking distance, car essential if wishing to explore the area.

Room Tip: If you avoid the kitchen extractor fan which runs constantly. Sea view with balcony are the best rooms to have.
