We arrived here after having stayed in Beaune and were very pleased with our choice! Suzanne was very welcoming providing us with as much information/maps/ideas as we could possibly ask for. We stayed here for 5 nights so got a real feel of the village. Our room was on the ground floor - we had picked a very hot week to stay here and as mentioned by previous occupants there was no air conditioning but if the windows are opened and shutters shut wasn't too much of a problem! Room was tastefully decorated with a comfy bed, well stocked mini bar and table and chairs outside our patio windows. The big bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. We had arranged a couple of bikes to be delivered to the hotel which wasn't a problem - Suzanne doesn't seem to be fazed by anything. Even her her large Newfoundland dog is very laid back!

Puligny-Montrachet is small picturesque village set in the vineyards of this region, and it is somehow fitting that it has a small gem of a hotel that somehow fits this location like a glove.

We had a ground floor room and really enjoyed winding down from our drive to Pulginy-Montrachet with a cool drink and pastry as we sat on the patio outside our room.

The host, Suzanne, runs the business very professionally but with attention to detail and a real personal touch. Nothing seemed too much trouble with advice on areas to see, things to do, places to walk around, and restaurant recommendations/bookings.

As other reviewers have indicated, the breakfasts are stunning, especially if you are greeted with a sunny morning and eat outside.

Be sure to ask Suzanne for advice on restaurants, but for a good meal within walking distance try L'Estamine des meix (north side of town square). We also had a stunning meal at an organic restaurant in neighbouring Meursault - I can't seem to locate it as I type, but ask Suzanne for details.

A fabulous location. A brilliant host. A great small, personal, hotel. This is a winner!

Would I return? If we are back in the area, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Small hotel - All the rooms seem good.

Place and room in excellent condition, owner appears to keep a keen eye on her property. Had we stayed longer, we might have feeled at home with the cosy lounge and the garden etc. And the breakfast: Unbelievable what she presents in the otherwise breakfast-unfriendly French environment.

Is this the best small hotel in France? Well Okay, I've not tried them all, so how can I say, but if you can find a better small hotel than this for similar money, then you will have done very well indeed. Only 6 rooms, we were in two and they seemed similar in style: comfy, smart, clean, very well equipped and reasonably spacious. Suzanne seems to have thought of everything. There is a nice terrace for breakfast, weather permitting, gardens and a comfortable inside sitting room with fireplace and TV.

Breakfast is a thing to behold. Suzanne does so much and there is huge variety especially fruits, different eggs, good bread, coffee, meats and cheeses etc. It would be tempting to stay for a long breakfast and give yourself over to gluttony as it is all so well done - and excellent value for money. Suzanne is charming, although a business, she runs it with a passion and attention to detail that would shame many a five star hotel.

Some rooms are on the ground floor, some up, same face the quiet village and some the back of the hotel. They are probably all good.

I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and there are no downsides.

Room Tip: Don't worry about choosing a room, all seem nice and the hotel is small so none are badly located.

We had a great stay, thank you so much to Suzanne. Such a beautiful house and rooms, restful and calm.
Breakfast was delicious, and set us up for the day. And Suzanne's recommendations never failed, a mine of gourmand information.
We look forward to staying again very soon, and very often.
Thank you very much
