Just spent a week last minute at this hotel. We were given a nice room near the Escencia part with a view of the sea. Room was very comfortable and the beds were very, very comfortable with nice pillows. Room was cleaned efficiently every day and stocked with basic shampoo, and shower gel.

Plenty of sunbeds even mid afternoon and that was with one of the pools closed due to being re-tiled.

The entertainment team work very, very hard. From entertaining the children and adults throughout the day to providing shows in the evening. Although the shows are mimed, remember this is a hotel, not the West End or Broadway. I though the in-house entertainment team were better than the acts that were brought in i.e., Magic shows, Acrobats etc.

However, the entertainment is aimed for the French market and only occasionally did I hear the announcement made in English so unfortunately was hard to understand what was going on so therefore only took part on the one occasion.

The food is poor and usually cold. Chicken not cooked thoroughly. Cheap cuts of meat. Two restaurants, one which is indoors and one which has an outdoor section with open doors inside. This restaurant, as per previous reviewers have said, has a serious problem with birds flying in. The birds land on the food and walk on it and then grab a bit and fly off. Sometimes also dropping a 'little extra' on the food. The hotel really do need to address this serious problem with the food being covered. Just make sure you choose the croissants at the bottom of the pile !!! Saying that we had no ill effects in the week we were there.

We did know this but there is no where to walk to in the evening really. No promenade and no nearby bars etc. Taxi to the nearest town of Jandia was 8 Euros each way, sometimes a little less coming back.

The drinks on the basic AI are very poor and I was told by a member of staff that the wine in the dispensers are a mix of wine and water which you could tell anyway. We were only advised on our 4th day that we were entitled to an actual 'bottle of wine' as we were on the AI.

The toilets by the pool had only one soap dispenser and this was broken and had been for 4 days. I saw members of staff using the toilet and then only being able to rinse their hands. I asked one of them if they had reported it and they just shrugged their shoulders. I reported it myself and in all fairness it was fixed within 24 hours.

The bar and restaurant staff in general are a miserable lot and provide little service and seem as though they don't want to be there. We found the reception staff very pleasant and helpful.

The nudist section is not a problem which is connected to the hotel but there was a very strange nude individual on the beach who seemed to want to wave his vital parts to everyone and was doing some very unsocial things. It made us laugh but really he needs stopping as there was a lot of children around and his behaviour could have got him arrested.

The rooms are quite difficult to find and most of them are up hill and are not attached to the main hotel. No lifts in the actual rooms complex. The walk to the restaurant is up hill so if you are less mobile this is really not the place for you. There is a steepish hill down to the beach which was ok for us but again if you are not mobile or unsteady on your feet this would be very difficult for you.

We had a reasonable time for the price we had paid but I wouldn't want to return.

Room Tip: Third Floor just before the Essencia part. Nice bigger balcony and sea view. Very quiet and peaceful.

I feel bad writing this but it is true.....stayed here in the summer holidays 2015.

Firstly for a supposedly 5 star hotel the rooms were cockroach filled, the wardrobe did not glide open and closed we had to really struggle and the toilet did not work but this was resolved.

the food was covered in flies and we all had diarrhea the whole time we stayed and only picked at things below the surface to try and avoid the flies, my poor mother got the most sick!

there were not enough seats in the evening for the entertainment so if you do not get there super early you could be standing or so far back behind a post! the entertainment shows were good though and the table service was good and very quick. i feel sick writing this as it reminds me of the awful time

would not recommend needs huge improvement especially food wise

We had booked another hotel through TUI, however upon landing we were changed to this hotel due to overbooking. At first we were a bit worried since we had no information on this hotel.
However we felt better after walking in the hotel, the reception gave its best to accommodate the entire bus as fast as possible. We got the “Esencia” armband, but a regular room. “Esencia” is another area of the complex where there is a separate restaurant, pool and other types of accommodations. We could only use the pool and the other restaurant but had a regular room. However the room we had was pretty ok, it was clean, the bed was comfortable and we also had a balcony with partial sea view. The room had a funny smell, however after opening the windows for some time it was gone.
We usually stay away from all-inclusive but the experiences we have had in Mexico and Cuba have been pretty good. However as my first all-inclusive in Europe, I was expecting more based on previous experiences. Nonetheless the hotel was good, the pools were always clean and the beach is awesome. You can walk for kilometers along until the next town, Morro Jable.
The food is also in between good and very good, depending on the day. Service on the restaurants varies, some days it is very good and sometimes you have to wait a lot for drinks or a table. I do not know why since the hotel did not seem fully booked.
Drinks are ok but we usually avoided cocktails since they tasted a bit like cheap alcohol was used. However there is a supermarket within walking distance and the prices are ok.
The only minus for us was that the hotel was far away from anything. Getting somewhere without a car or a taxi takes a long time. Sometimes the bus that passes every 30 min or so is full and you have to wait for the next one. A taxi ride into the next town can set you back about 30 euros or more. Also that you have to pay for slow Internet access was a bummer.
We would recommend the hotel and eventually come back.

Arrived at the Hotel in the dark at 8.00 pm. Our reception was cool but polite. We were not offered a welcome drink, although there were glasses on the desk. We were shown a map of the grounds and expected to find oiur own way to the allocated room, although they did offer to have our luggage taken there. We set off through the dimly lit paths, going down and down until finally the room numbers on the main path vanished altogether. We floundered around various paths for a while before giving up and slogging our way back up to the main building and reception. I explained politely we could not find the room, and besides, with my then breathing problems, recovering from a chest infection, I did not want that hilly climb for the rest of our stay. What had been coolness turned to open unfriendliness and after a long wait we were finally allocated a room closer to the main building. I was taken there on the hotel's luggage wagon, but my husband had to run along behind!! Room spacious and attractive, with lovely views of beautifully kept grounds and the mountains beyond. There were no tea making facilities and we did not receive the half bottle of champagne stated in our booking details, though later on Christmas Eve they did bring a small box of chocolates to our room.
Next morning explored the grounds, the bars/restaurants and lovely beach with its resident chipmunks and its bar. Enjoyed the archery and rifle shooting activities. Although the pools were huge with numerous sunbeds, inevitably these were all reserved by early morning and although many were unoccupied, remained that way all day.. The majority of the guests at the Hotel were German.
The Hotel is basically in the middle of nowhere, just other hotels and one supermarket, and an 8 euro taxi ride to get to Jandia.
The food plentiful and restaurant clean, with friendly but overworked staff. The food seemed to me to be cost rather than quality conscious, although on Christmas Day the food brilliant and tables beautifully set, although the booking was a shambles that had some guests shouting with rage.
Our experiences with most of the bar staff were mainly unfortunate, with the German guests apparently being favoured and served first. On the third floor bar we seemed always to be served by a surly woman who never smiled or spoke and who would slam our ungarnished cocktails on the bar, with a loud "dos" and then turning away. On Christmas Eve my husband went to said bar and was served by an equally unfriendly older man. Asked for a red wine and got served white. When said husband pointed this out he appeared very angry and muttery, and another customer confirmed to him that red wine had been ordered, at which point he flounced around and all the while he was pouring, was muttering sarcastically the Christmas song Feliz Navidad under his breath before turning away.
Again on Christmas Eve we were in a lift when it broke down and when the engineer finally got the door open we were well below floor level and had to be helped/hauled out with a muttered sorry. It was a frightening experience with no official apology.
Christmas Day breakfast was lovely, with all the staff dressed up in Christmas outfits and singing - a really great atmosphere. What we weren't told and found out purely by chance was that the evening meal had to be booked, and many people hadn't realised and were turned away when they arrived, which led to angry scenes.
Now for the evening "entertainment". We tried, we really did, but found each night excruciatingly awful and it was apparent we were far from alone.
Should a 4 star hotel really be charging 12 euros a week for use of a safe, and an eye popping 19 1/2 euros for wi fi. Never experienced that before.
Finally, I'd like to mention Mila, the pleasant and hard working lady who kept our room 4109 so spotless. A big thank you.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the pool for a quieter stay, and one near reception to avoid uphill routemarch.

There is little new to report in writing this review. Most of the themes that appear in previous reports are readily apparent so judicious reading of TripAdvisor should ensure few surprises! one highlight that should be made is that the staff were unfailingly charming and prepared to go the extra mile for any request - and that makes all the difference
