Candi penataran is one of Historical heritage of Indonesia. The surrounding temple was very clean, welcoming people around. It's very pleasure to visit even not bigger temple. Very nice.

The site is small but not heavily visited so we almost had the place to ourselves. It's also well- preserved. Bring a guide or your own background materials as it is not signposted or explained anywhere.

Penataran Tempel located 11 km north of Blitar. Consider as the biggest Hindu Temple in East Java. Whole temple complex is very well preserved (buried under Kelud volcano ash could be on of the reason). On the west side of the complex there is square wall depict Khrisnayana story. The temple is open everyday for public.
