Popped in for coffee to the hotel as there was a sign outside saying coffee always available. Rang the bell for the restaurant 3 times without an answer. The receptionist didn’t acknowledge us as we were standing waiting and when we asked for coffee she was very offhand and unfriendly. We eventually got served, there was no menu we were just casually asked what we wanted. There was no choice just very strong filter coffee, no cake or extras offered.
We really hoped it would be better this time than our previous experience where we again waited for service and it never arrived. The hotel has such great potential it could really cash in on its stunning views but at the moment portrays a couldn’t care less attitude.

This 3day b & b break was purchased at a local food show & we were very much looking forward to staying in the hotel as part of a longer holiday in Scotland. A few days before our arrival we were informed the hotel wouldn’t be open but we could have the coach house for an extra £120! We agreed as a cancellation would have complicated the holiday. On arrival we were given the keys to the dismal, dirty accommodation which was very cold as the heating wasn’t working properly. The person they sent in didn’t fix it but provided 3 electric heaters, one placed on top of the cooker!!!! As we couldn’t have breakfast in the hotel 3 days of continental type was brought in. The out of date bread was returned but it took 2days to get more. A single duvet was placed in a double cover. The view we had was a wall not loch, the carpet was threadbare & cups stained. I could go on but please be warned not to be taken in by pushy sales people. It’s not like it appears.

. Our room was clean and the breakfast was fantastic.
We hired a boat and spent an afternoon out on the loch. The area is absolutely beautiful.
We did have one meal in the hotel restaurant. The pizza was cooked perfectly.the waitress was helpful,
Service was quick and smooth. There was also a great selection of beers and wine at the bar.
We had a wonderful stay so booked to go back later on in the year.

what a disgrace for the Scottish tourist industry! Twelve months of lock-down and they couldn't even bother to clean the chalet. We found dirt and dust everywhere including a used razor in the shower! so much for covid, but the worst thing was no hot water , the management told us they were working on it so we gave them the chance to sort it out but we left after four days with still no hot water. Inside the hotel is just as bad, so dated with poor decoration and because of blown double glazing in the restaurant you cannot see the loch 10 yards away! The web site is a sham , although it shows hot breakfasts you cannot get one and it bears no relation to the images. People please , book somewhere else.
