I often wonder what some people expect when staying in hotels and guest houses, especially after reading some of the reviews prior to staying here.

We were very happy with the accommodation provided, in fact pleasantly surprised of the amount of space we had, especially as our 5 month boisterous Sprocker Spaniel was as excitable as ever.

Breakfast was plentiful and sufficient for a day's exploring and the restaurant served excellent food in the evening. The bar had some excellent beers and the biggest selection of whiskies I have ever seen.

Staff were great and nothing was too much trouble. Bottled water was provided when requested along with any tea/coffee/milk.

Overall a beautiful location and great value for money.

We had a 3 night break in September, room overlooked the Loch with amazing views. Our room was on the top floor & was comfortable, although the bed was rather hard for our tastes. Ensuite bathroom definitely in need of maintenance, with lose tiles on the floor & the worst shower we've ever had as the cold water pressure was dreadful.
That said, the staff were friendly & although the hotel was struggling with reduced staffing as a result of the after effects of Covid & Brexit, the service was fine.
Food was generally good, but not exciting, & reasonably priced.

Dear Martin, thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed the views and food and service. We do keep spares of most things, including mattresses so we would have been able to replace this for you if you were not comfortable or provided you with a topper. Apologies for the problems in the bathroom and maintenance will check on this. We are updating and redecorating so it is a work in progress but with the aftermath of Covid & Brexit some things have been slower than we anticipated. If you would like to return in the future, contact us direct and we will arrange something for you. Kind regards

We have been here before. It is good value for money and excellent food. Staff friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Stayed in the coach house as we had the dog with us. Bed extremely comfortable. As we couldn't eat breakfast in the hotel they left a basket with yoghurts, bread, orange juice, full toastie loaf and jams etc....I did miss the cooked breakfast but with Covid rules was totally understandable.
We will be back

had a room in the coach house for disabled, only problem was the bed a bit low.all else was as remembered.the appartment was easy to access with the lay out on one level .it is set up for two and is well furnished.

Room tip: talk to the hotel and ask about rooms lodges and appartments to sort out the best for your needs, they are very helpful.
