This hotel is well established on St Kitts. Service has improved substantially over the years, the staff are very friendly and polite. Security staff are in attendance but no-one really seems to monitor who comes into the hotel. Students use the WIFI at the coffee bar etc. and we have seen people at the beach using Marriott facilities, different towels give them away! Cruise Ship passengers have a deal with the hotel and also use the facilities. Sundays in particular can be full of people standing drinking in the swimming pool. The hotel shares its facilities with Marriott Vacation Club villas - there are separate swimming pools. The restaurants are quite pricey. Have had a few bad meals at the Italian restaurant on site, but the other two Blu and the Steak restaurant are ok. They appear to have become more casual re. dress code over the years. The Spa is very expensive and my massage was more like "massage by numbers" and not very caring. There are massage beds on the beach run by locals and these are less expensive - they may negotiate a price if not too busy. There are no private beaches on St Kitts. This looks private and safe but we know people who have had items removed from the beach and poolside. There is no-one actively checking who comes up from the beach into the hotel grounds. You have been warned. Items have even gone missing from the local massage ladies - handbag, phone etc. Locals will often appear with baby monkeys in nappies (diapers). You can guarantee that the monkey mothers did not just hand these babies over and they probably all fail to grow up and have a full or free life. Perhaps think before you encourage with photos? The water here can be quite rough. Take care on the far side of the walls of boulders. There have been fatalities over the years. You may be lucky enough to see turtles - not that many as the sea grass seems to have disappeared with the hurricane. It always strikes me as strange that the receipts for food or services have service charge included and then another space for gratuity. This seems like paying twice. We sampled 3 different rooms on this occasion for one reason or another. All were clean and tidy and the beds are comfortable. Some of the double glazing has "blown" and could do with replacing.

Room tip: Beach view villas are nice.

The 2 BR unit was very clean, updated, spacious and comfortable with a wonderful view thanks to Nicola kindly filling our request for the best view available. We were on the third floor - note there are no elevators if that is an issue - stay on the ground floor. The grounds are really well kept, the beach is large and gorgeous (virtually no seaweed for those going now), pools are lovely. The ocean was a little rougher on the Atlantic but fine for swimming. The majority of the staff was outstanding - so friendly and accommodating. Thanks to everyone for helping to make this a relaxing and wonderful trip which was badly needed- we will be back!!

Room tip: We stayed in building 7 which had great views and was quiet - away from the hotel and pool activity but still very close to the beach.

The Good: Friendly, efficient staff (mostly). Good coffee. The beach is interesting--not as expected--this is the Atlantic side and the sea has small waves. The sand is tan, not white, but it's nice and soft. The water is not the clear aqua blue I was expecting, however, I really enjoyed listening and watching the mild surf. Pool is decent with plenty of chairs available since the water was quite cold. I saw just a few people in the pool during my entire week here. The sea was a challenge to get into also as the air was warm but breezy with little sun (March).
The architecture and layout of the resort was pleasing, with some eateries within view of the water. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the mattress was not bad. I do wish there was a makeup mirror though!

The Not-So-Great: The hallways and rooms needed touchup paint and I found it extremely odd that there were no wall hangings, plants or decoration in the open-to-the-center hallways. Our balcony in room #335 was HUGE but there were only 2 small chairs and one end table. No lounge chairs, no plants, no decor at all which made for an unpleasant sitting since the concrete walls of the balcony were waist high with a very distant view of the mountains.
The eateries are ridiculously pricey. You can save 40% by walking up the street a ways. We did have a meal (at the Marriott) at the Bohemian Grill which was very good. Coffee and and pastries at the market were also good. We heard the pizza was awful so did not try it.
Overall a good choice if you dine elsewhere. Marriott--lower those eatery prices and maintain and decorate those pretty couryard hallways!

Room tip: Go for ocean view or better!

This is a beautiful resort. The grounds are very open with the pools and building spread out. There is plenty of open and free space for games and activities as well as a 24 hour fitness center. The timeshare resort is co-located with a Marriott hotel and casino. The are several medium to high priced restaurant on property. Additionally there are several relatively inexpensive restaurants within walking distance. The rooms, especially the 3 bedroom units, are extremely spacious; they have 2 and 3 bedrooms on the timeshare side and hotel rooms on the hotel side. Wi-fi is included and there are no resort fees. This is an ocean front resort however depending upon where your unit is located you could be a few minute walk. The beach is nice and runs a long distance. There are "free" chairs and cabana located on the beach for you use. The beach is racked daily. We didn't have any seaweed during our stay but we were informed it could be an issue.
