we booked two rooms to accommodate my family of four, well in advance and on both ends of our journey to the islands. On arrival the owner 'kindly' offered to accommodate us all in the flat next door to avoid making up camp beds etc. This 'flat' is completely inappropriate for paying guests and I found it to be both dirty and dangerous. It felt and appeared as if the occupant had been kicked out 20mins before our arrival. There were dirty dishes in the kitchen, used razors in the bathroom, personal bills and correspondence in the bedroom and the wardrobe in the double room full of his clothing. The sheets and pillows were brown with stains and the carpets visibly dirty. All the smoke detectors had been removed and the door for entry did not close properly or lock. On top of all this the rear of the flat is overlooked by three huge static caravans housed in the garden area, they are so close you can see what each occupant is watching on TV. We had breakfast in the main house which appears clean and tidy, however several of the breakfast items on offer were out of date! I cannot comment on the standard of the bedrooms inside the house. Needless to say we cancelled our booking for our return journey and negotiated successfully a more appropriate price for our awful experience. We were able to reserve an alternative room just down the road and I can confirm that the room rates were less and standards were far superior to Greenacres. We will be contacting the Scottish tourist board as this property is not fit for purpose and should not be offered to paying guests.

Room Tip: best room advice would be not to book one here !!!

This B&B is dog friendly and they do a very nice breakfast. The rooms are comfortable if you are fortunate enough to be in the main part of the house. We booked 2 single occupancy rooms during the height of the season 5 months in advance as we were visiting Mull for a week and needed a stopover on the way there and on the way back. My advice would be don't bother to book well in advance if you are NOT a couple as our second room was taken away from us by a last minute double booking both on the way over and on the way back!! As everywhere else would be likely to be booked up at that time of year I had no choice but to agree to sleep in her neighbour's flat which was not as good quality and I had to share a bathroom with the male occupant of the flat and walk through his dirty kitchen. I would certainly question whether some of the rooms in the house are actually "en suite" as advertised on the board outside. The one in the flat certainly wasn't and it also had no wi-fi. I think I will be contacting the Scottish tourist board to find out what THEIR definition of en suite is. From what I have experienced, en suite bathrooms are always within the bedroom. That said, it has a lovely view and they did make a lot more effort to clean up the flat on our return visit. Also if you compare the prices to other rates in the area it is probably quite reasonable. On reflection though, I wish I had argued more about paying the full rate for being in the flat, as I was certainly doing her a big favour!

Room Tip: Room 3 has an en suite shower but room 1 only has a basin with its own bathroom down the hall.

Enjoyed a two night stay at Greenacres during a weekend in Connel.
Rooms were cosy, comfortable and clean. Bed very comfortable - and no squeaks! Good supply of tea, coffee etc in the rooms and the water & sweets were a very nice touch. Wi-fi worked perfectly.
Good, plentiful, breakfast served in a lovely room with a fantastic view across Loch Etive to Lismore and Mull.
Our hosts were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Plenty of parking space at the front.
I hope to make a return visit in the not too distant future!

Greenacre was easy to find and gave easy access to main tourist routes. The house was set back from the main road(not a problem for us) and the view was stunning(whatever the weather). Laura gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful. Room was adequate for our needs and very clean with good supply of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. The ensuite was small. Enjoyed lovely breakfast.

Room Tip: Front rooms have lovely views.

A cosy b&b in Connel near Oban with a pratty garden overlooking the harbour and spacious parking. Great breakfast in a nice breakfastroom. Very little sound proofing between the rooms and creaking beds, otherwise very good
