We had an amazing stay at Master Campers. From arrival, we were very well looked after and the service was incredible. Roy was the most amazing guide...the things he could spot from so far away was amazing! We also found out he was the very talented chef that prepared our delicious meals - dining out on delicious food under the stars was an amazing experience. The accommodation was very luxurious and the camp was hidden away which meant it was very peaceful and quiet. An amazing experience that I would definitely recommend!

Staying at Master Campers gave us the opportunity to see nature in the wild and camp by a lake....I must say Roy, the guide and cook and general fount of information was extraordinary and made our trip....he knew so much about the animals .....he was so enthusiastic as well about the Park and the animals and especially the bird life, I can't praise him enough. Also, he is the Cook and he can do a very good curry and he has a big smile as well....this National Park was stunning ....if you like wild life and all the unexpected things that a tour through such a park produces...I want to go back to Sri Lanka.

Room Tip: all tents access the lake

We stayed with Isuru and the team at Master Campers in Uda Walawe for two nights. From the moment we arrived we were absolutely blown away. The camp is set up on the edge of a lake in a sugar cane farm, a few minutes from the entrance to the national park. The setting was stunning and the attention to detail to make the camp as comfortable as possible was amazing. Each tent is fitted with an ensuite, mosquito nets, lights and comfortable beds. We did two safaris in the park each day (sunrise and afternoon/sunset), each lasting for about 3 hours. We saw hundreds of elephants (and had some unforgettable, up close encounters with them), buffalo, crocodiles, monkeys, deer, peacocks and a huge variety of other birds. Unfortunately we didn't see any leopards but Isuru took us all over the park and along many off road tracks to try and spot one. It is clear that Isuru and Roy (our guides) have a passion for the park and the wildlife and we learnt so much from them. Back at the camp, the food was delicious-some of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka! We especially loved the lake fish which was caught that day by fishermen in the park. We were waited on hand and foot, all in such a beautiful setting. We would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the real magic of Sri Lanka's national parks, guided by a team of people who will do anything to make your time as perfect as possible in every way.

We are back home but still dreaming about our amazing experience at Master camp. We are forever thankful to Isuru and the team for all that they did to make us comfortable. I will never forget the awesome food. I think we ate every possible Sri Lankan curry or taking a shower with a frog, of course, there was our leopard sighting! We were able to watch that gorgeous animal for a long time. The team did everything possible to make sure that we were safe and having an enjoyable time. This place is worth the money. It was perfect!
