The food, the ambience and the company were all excellent. However, the rest was not up to par.
We had booked a table, since we were 7 people on a busy Friday night. When we arrived, the booking was gone - even if we had gotten an email confirmation. After some hazzling, we got an upstairs table with the Bistro menu. Had it all ended here, we would all have laughed about it and it had been a great meal.
We then sat down, got some water and asked for cocktails tips. The waiter went to find the cocktail menu, which he returned without a few minutes later only to go back to look for it. He then returned having not found it and took the cocktails orders from his head. OK, good save, for now. Then he announced that the place is full and the food will take at least 30 minutes. That was OK, but quite late to tell that. We were on vacation, so the wait was just fine, but usually you tell that when you sit down. However, now the fun begins.
We got our drinks, ordered the food and started to order wines for the starters. However, since the wait was long, the waiter suggested that he'll come back for meal drinks later. To our surprise, our starters came five minutes later, when we had just sap our drinks. A good Toast Skagen goes well with a Tom Collins, so now problems, but it didn't really go as planned.
After the starters were finished, the waiter promised to come back for main course drinks. The wait was long, as anticipated, but alas again, we were up for s surprise. The main courses arrived, without either cutlery nor drinks. After a few minutes we got some knives and forks, but drink orders took ages. The food was more than half eaten by the times we got the wines.
So how do you rate the evening? The food was delicious and the service was an experience.
