Idyllic Island Stay - Unexpected Thailand Gem!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 weeks ago
The Koh Yao Yai Village Beach Resort IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! My favorite hotel stay in 2 weeks between Phuket, Koh Yao Yai, and Koh Lanta. This island is an unexpected treasure and the hotel offers the most idyllic setting to fully experience it.

The Koh Yao Yai Village Beach Resort is an excellent choice for travelers seeking tranquility and a unique accommodation experience. Its idyllic location and distinctive setup, complemented by the exceptionally family-friendly staff, make it a memorable place for a peaceful getaway. It provides a unique blend of luxury and nature with individual huts and tranquil setting create a memorable retreat for all guests.

Pros:

Scenic Location: Nestled in a tranquil setting with spectacular views of cliffs and nearby islands, the resort's location is truly postcard-perfect, offering a peaceful retreat.

Unique Accommodations: The individual huts provide an experience akin to glamping in the jungle, combining outdoor adventure with the comfort of luxurious amenities. This unique setup appeals to those looking for something beyond the ordinary hotel room.

Family-Friendly Staff: The staff at Koh Yao Yai Village are exceptionally welcoming to families, going above and beyond to accommodate the needs of children and ensuring that all family members have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Their friendliness and attentiveness significantly enhance the family-friendly atmosphere of the resort.

Ideal for Relaxation: The quiet atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings make this resort perfect for those looking to unwind and relax in a picturesque setting.

Cons:

Accessibility: The resort’s remote location, while part of its charm, may pose a challenge for guests looking to explore local nightlife or dining options outside the property. Planning is required for those wishing to venture beyond the resort’s peaceful enclave.

While the resort caters beautifully to families, couples, and solo travelers might want to consider the vibrant family atmosphere when booking their stay.

A perfect island resort. Our first rooms were not the best, felt tired and dirty and the ones up on the ”hill” are hidden in between trees and bushes which gives a that feeling, perfect for some though. We were moved after our first night to better rooms and the team could not do enough for us. Staff are very attentive and remembers and cares for your every need. Jo the restaurant manager along with the GM were fantastic. They have a good team of staff although they struggle with staff on the island. When I mentioned a poor hygiene and device matter to the manager it was quickly delt with. Breakfast is good, plentiful although it’s not hot. Coffee is very good, the restaurants serve good food, looking fresh and tasty.
Their new year gala was well organised and a nice event with some amazing food on offer.
Organised a private boat trip to some island via the hotel and it was really good and recommended it well.
They also offer a courtesy trip to Laem had which was really good!
Mr & mrs Roberts appreciate this stay and every effort from the management!

We were here over Christmas and it was lovely! A very authentic and relaxing experience, and the rooms were lovely!
Really wanted to write this review to commend the security guards Nop and Man! They went out of their way to help us, including finding us a car to rent, helping us return it, helping us in with our shopping, keeping an eye out for us round the island and being so helpful and cheery every time we saw them!
Thank you so much, it really made our stay and showed the resort is really in good hands and very safe!! I hope this can be passed on to them!

Koh Yao Yao Village is the perfect retreat to get away and shut off from the rest of the world. Beautiful resort set in nature the beach front villa is a great size for small family perfect spot overlooking the islands and right on the beach close to the restaurants and pools. 2 large pools with plenty of sun chairs. Breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations and the lunch/dinner menus are perfect. As u can imagine you have plenty of access to delicious fresh seafood. Warm friendly staff made our family feel at home. Only disappointment was having to leave

Room tip: Small island so not a lot to do except relax. If looking for a party - Koh Yao Yai is not for you.

Lovely get away from it all.
Rooms are external lodge type with covered area for outside relaxing, also and outside shower.
Good choice at breakfast and all the food we experience was good.
Beach not so good sandy and very shallow and a muddy brown colour.
Two lovely pools, one day we had the whole area to ourselves, however there could be a fight for the sun beds at busy times.
Some near by restaurants a good walk with a slight hill.
We hired a motor boat me and side car and discovered a lovely remote beach around the other side which was perfect.
