Lovely resort in a slightly out of the way location. The suites have large bathrooms with great soaking tubs plus a nice terrace/balcony. Beautiful grounds with lots of swans in the lake. If you aren't up for walking be prepared to rely on golf carts to get to the main building. Breakfast was a big disappointment it opened late and food dribbled out.

We were here for 2 nights. The deluxe room is large and we could soak in the tub while watching tv. The shower is large and the bathroom has twin sinks. The beds are great. The property has extensive gardens, lake, large swimming pool and multiple hot tubs. Golf buggies are available to get you to your room. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit juice prepared. A downside is mosquitoes in the restaurant.

This hotel is now under new management, hence the new name of JZ Hotel. The room is luxurious and expertly maintained. The ground is well kept and quiet. It is not the type of resort that offers swimming pool, water slide and activities for the kids but is ideal for a relaxing short break. It is well placed to visit Emeishan and the Big Buddha of Leshan. The tourists travel centre for transportation up Emeishan is less than 10 minutes away by taxi. The high speed train station is even closer, about 5 minutes by taxi. This is in the quiet part of town and not well served by public transport. The hotel staff are happy to call a cab for you but you need to wait about 20 minutes as the cab will come from town. So plan your movements in advance. Cab fare is dirt cheap although the driver will charge a little bit extra for answering the call and making a special journey. The food at the chinese restaurant is excellent and not very spicy. It is probably one of the best alternatives in this small town.

The Anantara Emei Resort is located around 10km from the Emei Railway Station. It is a very nice resort.
We arrived at the hotel around 6 in the evening. We were greeted by the concierge and checked in fairly quickly. The staff are very nice and efficient and offered tea for us during the check-in process.
We dined at their restaurant which offered a variety of local delicacies and some western dishes.
The room are clean and the amenities were adequate.
I must say their service have exceeded my expectation. They are diligent and gave us a lot of support when we require transportation to the mountains and to the airport.
Well done!

Room Tip: The room with a lake view during summer

This resort used to be managed by Anantara, hence, the tropical theme of the place. Nonetheless, it has retained its excellent service, there are even handful of staff who speak English and others are learning, which is a good sign. Rebecca, the Duty manager, was extremely helpful and she took the effort to write out instructions in English and Chinese for our unguided journey up Mount Emei.

The restaurant serves good local dishes featuring pork and beef. Breakfast was okay too, serving intercontinental breakfast as well as local porridge and soup noodles.

Location wise, this resort is a short drive from the base of Mount Emei, i.e. the ticketing /bus station and tourist shopping street. The taxi ride costs about 10RMB+.
