I just returned from my fourth stay at NAD-Lembeh Resort and it was the best so far, which is saying a lot because the previous three were excellent. Simon and Zee (the owners) have added a few new things since I was last there in February 2017. There's a very spacious, airy new bar-lounge with great views of the strait, a new koi pond, and, best of all, a new and very talented dive operations manager, Sonja Geier.
The dive guides never fail to amaze me with their finds. On this trip, I was lucky enough to photograph mating flamboyant cuttlefish, a juvenile harlequin shrimp, a boxer crab with eggs, and a hairy octopus plus all the other usual macro suspects except for hairy frogfish. And the rest of the staff are equally good in their roles. Staying at NAD always feels like I'm staying with family.
I have two more trips to NAD booked for 2018 that I'm very much looking forward to. If you are going to Lembeh Strait to dive the world famous muck, NAD should be at the top of your list for accommodations and diving.
