We have never been to the Maldives before so nothing to compare it to – but we had a fabulous time here for our honeymoon and husbands 50th birthday
Beach bungalow 246 – great side of the island – breezy and right on the beach, two bungalows away from the Cafe Mass which is open as long as someone is there drinking. Next to this was Thaava restaurant which we didnt not go into but everyone said was very good.
Great accommodation, OMG the beds were sooooooo comfy, great outdoor shower, yes its warmish, but seriously you do not want to be showing in hot water in those temperatures so was very refreshing. – Ali Rasheed our bungalow cleaner was amazing and really looked after us, please pass on our thanks.
All the staff was great which made this a great resort to come to – Nazeer our waiting staff member was great and very funny – Sanguara great bar man – made amazing cocktails – and the boys who all run the pool bar and Cafe Mass, top job boys! As well as Kumar the pool manager, what a hoot he was!
Had a great massage, intact one of the best ever with Rosi in the spa – there were lovely touches which made this spa in the middle of the island a little bit different, attentive – great staffing!
Food was okay and never really short of anything to eat – drinks were the same, I am not sure why some people are not so happy about them – but hey ho!

Had 24 hours in the water villa on an upgrade, its worth having a go, the restaurant is lovely, the staff attentive and our butler Raj was fantastic, when we return we will definitely have a few more days there – we had dinner on the beach and use of a separate quiet pool etc – was very good indeed!!
Met some lovely people, some returning for the 6th time, so they can't be doing much wrong can they!
Give this place a try – dont think you will be disappointed for its value
PS Seaplane was AMAZING! and I cried when we had to leave!!!
Thanks to all the lovely people we met on this journey, hope you all got home safely and are nursing the suntan – lots of love Lucy & Daren

Room Tip: North side is breezier – seaplane lands there, but we never heard it despite being yards from the jetty

We spent our honeymoon at this hotel from June 12 to 20 on all inclusive basis. The country accepts dollars as payment.
Weather: Rainy days and evenings occurred but we also had lots of sunshine. Reception was kind enough to send golf carts to pick and drop us off to the room on really wet days
Service: Room cleaning, bar, spa and dining experience was lovely with attentive and friendly staff
Seaplane, airport and transfers. The views from the seaplane are breathtaking and great foto opportunities. Theres not much in the airport and can become very hot. We used the airport lounge on the return trip which has really good wifi, a shower and nice food. The transfers were effortless, well coordinated and professional. Just be aware that they take away all luggage from you (excpet handbag) for the bus ride to the plane and in the plane.
Food and Drinks: Excellent range and variety-we were not bored for the 7 days. The drinks on the all inclusive menu were limited and of average to poor quality. To pay for a drink out of the inclusive menu was very expensive. Be aware, Its a Muslim country which does not allow alcohol into the country. There were snacks in between the meal times like a sausage roll or chicken/fish bites but i would suggest carrying your own to the resort for variety and in between munching as the mini bar is limited and expensive. The waiters and bar manager are amazing, and deserve a special mention for their high standard of service.
Things to do: there are water sports and snorkelling, a sunset cruise and fishing trips but be prepared for the high prices. The spa was amazing. has a sauna and steam room which was lovely. Recommend getting a massage there. pool area was always full with people booking the loungers and leaving it for hours on end. The pool boy was quite helpful in securing places for us.
Entertainment: two singers entertained us every night with lovely voices. Would have been nice to have variety i.e. perhaps local drummers or dancers?
Wifi: Free and fast in the common areas.
Shopping: the resort has shops but i would recommend buying everything you need before travelling die to pricing and limitations on whats available.
Beach: Lovely white sand and turquoise water, with great foto opportunities.
Room: Beach villa. Inside and outside shower ( although the inside shower is open to the elements and has a door with locks on both side connected to the bedroom). Lukewarm hot water inside and there was nothing management could do to raise the temperature. When it rained and the air temperature dropped, it would have been nice to have a hot shower. This is the main reason for a 3 star rating as although its a minor issue but i give the bathroom experience high priority in my holiday experience. Room is basic but comfortable with each room having 2 deck/lounge chairs. We didn't really use them as the beach on our side was full of coral. Our room number was 228. It was near a bar and a nice walk away from the main bar and restaurant. I didnt understand the presence of roosters and chickens that freely roamed the island and crowed throughout the day.
Before we left, a photography studio opened at the reception. We had issues with regard to miscommunication between our travel agent and the hotel with regard to a free cruise, dinner and discount on spa treatments. I recommend ensuring the hotel agrees and is made aware of before you leave for trip as guest relations are really not that helpful. After a review on TripAdvisor which i was asked to remove by the manager, the hotel gave us a complementary cruise which we didnt take as my husband and I were very disappointed with the way it was handled. We were given the cruise and guest relations made an effort to resolve the conflict only after the review. Another reason for not giving it a 4 star rating. For the honeymoon package, u get fruits, cake, wine (please ask for this as we were not given this) and a decorated bed with flowers.

Dear Ranjeetha H,

thank you very much for taking the time and making the effort to review our resort. We are very pleased that you generally enjoyed your stay with us, concerning the honeymoon package this is an extra service that needs to be pre booked through the travel agent but does not come as an added benefit.. We do hope that we will be able to welcome you back again in the future.

If your looking for a relaxing holiday, with quality food, attentive service and views to die for then look no further than this little gem of an island.

Like all holidays if you look hard enough you can find fault, but the team at this place have made a real effort to make it a perfect retreat.

Special thanks to Nasser in the restaurant who educated us in Maldivian traditions " Sound as a Pound " although he does need to work on his weather forecasting.

In short this island is a fantastic retreat if your looking for a relaxing holiday.

We have just returned from a lovely holiday here , island biggest one we have been on , there was always something on in the evening , good food in restaurant , sometimes wasn’t overly warm , did say and apologised , would like to say a huge thank you to sidath and suranga , bar men who were fantastic , straight from the start were attentive and professional , and really wanted you to enjoy you’re holiday , nothing to much from them , if I had complaint would be , thought gardens were a bit unkempt , let island down , other then that , was a fab holiday with plenty to do for everyone , would we go back again , yes we would

We have just returned and stayed from 5th to 18th June, our third visit to the Maldives and by far our best island yet ( also our best holiday ever ) We stayed in the beach villas for our first week then upgraded for our second week. We found both weeks amazing.
Michael ( general manager ) was very helpful with sorting out our upgrade 2nd week, thanks Michael.
The island staff are so helpful and friendly especially Diamanté and Raj, you are brilliant.
We will definitely return and are counting the days until we do. Mr Mrs Jenkins.

Room Tip: We stayed in 206 first week, great room straight onto beach.
