We were welcomed with the best scones we’ve ever had-Thank you Melanie!
Our girls loved the hammock swing in the tree and the daily animal feeding. Lots to do in the woods and even a little boat on the pond!
We stayed in a yurt, which was perfect, there are 2 - perfect for a holiday with friends/family. BBQ’s/firepits are provided. The best part was the private (lovely) bathroom and use of a country kitchen, with everything you could possibly need. Glamping to the max!!

We spent our days at the beach, Bude and Widemouth Bay-which were both awesome if a little far away (30 mins). Returning to Puddleduck made the drive well worth it though.

I am really surprised there are not more excellent reviews.

Thanks again!

We had a lovely warm welcome on arriving, thanks Melanie!
Fabulous setting in a Valley brimming with wildlife, especially birds! The Yurt was delightful with a little BBQ nearby.
We were there as a couple but could see that there was plenty of interest for children, a great place to get away from “gadgets”.
Puddleduck Valley was a good base for access to cycle routes, one goes right past the entrance.

Hi Hilary, thanks for the brilliant review. It's great to know that couples visiting enjoy the place just as much as the families. A great point made about the national cycle route that passes the end of the drive. We really should make more of it! See you again soon, Phil

We stayed at Puddleduck Valley with our 2 children aged 3 and 2 and had a wonderful time. The kids absolutely loved it especially getting involved being a farmer, collecting the eggs for breakfast every morning, petting corner with the rabbits and exploring the farm. Plenty to do on the farm and lots within easy drive.

Melanie and Phil were excellent hosts with lots of lovely touches when we arrived including treats in the kitchen, age appropriate toys already in the accommodation with many more to choose from in the guest conservatory. Everything for the girls was provided including cot, potty, cutlery, plates etc they literally think of everything!! Great local knowledge and if there anything they didn't know off hand they found out for us.

Accommodation was pristine on our arrival and the farm is set in beautiful countryside. We had a perfect week there and will definitely be returning next year. Would recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to get away from it all.

A beautiful farm set in stunnning woodland, very peaceful.

The service couldn't have been better, we were greeted as we drove in to the property with big smiles and a very welcoming family. Phil and Melanie are fantastic hosts, they made sure our stay was perfect. Their two daughters were just as friendly and were so good with my small children.

The accommodation was lovely, very clean, very neat and very comfortable. There was everything you could possibly need from a pint of milk in the fridge to a selection of books and toys.

There is so much to do at Puddleduck Valley, to name a few activities we did: exploring the forest, pond dipping for tadpoles, playing with clay and making clay faces on the trees, feeding the chickens, goats and rabbits, collecting eggs, even painting a picture in the arts and crafts room.

We visited Crooklet Beach in Bude, on the advice of Melanie, which did not disappoint. It took maybe 30 minutes to get there, and there was ample parking. The beach was stunning, wide open space and lots of rock pools to investigate.

My family and I have fallen in love with this place, we love it's eco friendly ethos and the opportunity it gives the children to explore nature in a safe and measured environment. And the rope swings in the woods certainly brings out your inner child!

The only drawback for us having to come away, my daughter was distraught!

Looking forward to staying again next year.

Hi Amy,

thank you so much for the review. We do tend to find that the adults find their inner children too - whether it be through clay face making, map fires or even cats cradle with Melanie. We're really pleased you enjoyed yourselves and appreciate that you noticed the efforts we have made to conservation and green energy.

See you again soon

Phil

We visited Puddleduck Valley at the end of half term, and due to strategic use of an inset day benefitted from having the place to ourselves! We stayed in a yurt and found it comfortable and great fun for the kids who are 7 and 2. Unlike many hotels we’ve stayed in, the mattresses promoted sleep rather than made it painful.

It worked really well to feed the animals in the morning then spend the middle of the day exploring the beautiful countryside and end the day eating together as a family back on the farm. The kitchen we had use of was well equipped so no barriers to cooking pretty much anything we liked.

Puddleduck Valley is well situated for exploring Cornwall and Devon. We visited Bude for the beach and then the Cornish aircraft museum where the kids (and one of the adults!!) could sit in genuine RAF fighter planes’ cockpits.

Phil and Melanie are very knowledgeable and friendly, we’d highly recommend a stay!

Hi Emma, than you for the brilliant review. We actually selected the mattresses by trying them ourselves - we even fit the mattresses with fluffy toppers to get that super comfy feel! It was great to have you stay and we'd love to see you all again soon. Phil & Melanie
