Comy is the young man that basically runs this very wonderful place and he brings so much enthusiasm and warmth to it! He is originally from Romania and welcomes everyone! So you will see him first. He cooks a delicious breakfast - bread eggs bacon jam veggies and more! We did not eat dinner but heard it was delicious including local trout. The family that lives here which includes Comy and other members go out of their way to make you feel at home. We stayed in the cabin for camping. We were a family of 4. Our children loved it here. You are right in the water and they have 2 trampolines. Comy and his twin brother played soccer and jumped in the trampoline in between duties! He even played piano and guitar for us. He makes this hotel more like home!!

Room Tip: Cabin 6 is the best - I think it is the largest of the cabins - 2 twin down and a loft that has room for 2 comfortably.

Stayed one night while traveling through Norway by car. Price was ok by Norwegian standard and photos of the room were ok, so we booked.
Most of pre-arrival interactions with the hotel were hi-tech. We received text message that hotel operates automated check-in facility and on the day of arrival another text advising that our assigned room is ready, code required to access the room and the wi-if password. Hi-tech ended when we have arrived. The place is old... room we were given had furniture and fixtures my grandma was able to find in the store when she was young (needless to say it didn’t look at all like photos we have seen while booking).
As we were three adults traveling we have received family room that consisted of one room with king bed, one room with 2 single bunk beds and toilet with shower. Everything was clean but dated. There was no fridge in the room although web site said there should be one.
Internet worked reasonably well but intermittently.
Breakfast that was included into room rate was reasonably good, I wish they would tell in advance that they can make eggs to order -we only found out when we almost finished eating.
The guesthouse stays right on the road so it was rather noisy when traffic was passing by.
Although website said that parking is available, it was not immediately obvious where to park as there was no parking in front or by the side.

Reasonable option to stay if price is right, but given state of upkeep, also quite average.

Great value for fairly modest accommodation, clean and welcoming. Extremely friendly and informative manager from Bulgaria. (Speaks excellent English.) Beautiful view and short walk (2 min?) to harbor and village center. Surprisingly good breakfast selection. Manager is a chef and will cook dinner for you though we did not do that. Suspect it would be very good. He was happy to store baggage for early arrival or late departure. We felt very well cared for and could easily get around this tiny village from here. Convenience store and larger market about 2-5 min walk. Our early May date had very few visitors in the entire town and at this hotel.

Me and my husband stopped at Hardanger Gjestehus during our road trip in Norway. We really liked the location of the hotel next to a stunning lake, but we were mostly impressed with both brothers Michael and Komy. They were very friendly and made sure that everyone is satisfied with their experience.
We arrived later than the normal check-in times, but they waited for us and made sure that we are well looked after. We would highly recommend this hotel, not only for the location but because of the customer service and the entire experience.

Room Tip: A room with river view and nice terrace

Wonderful experience. The hotel was being run by twin brothers Comy & Michael. We arrived earlier then scheduled, in the middle of the tourist season, and were made to feel at home immediately. The twins were adaptable, available, dynamic, funny, friendly, fun, and excellent with children, making the experience much more than simply a night in a hotel.
Great food, enormous breakfast, superb views, good value for money, and even a complementary trampolining lesson!
We came away feeling as if we'd just spent 24 hours living in a John Irving novel.
The boys still talk about the whole experience, and about Comy & Michael in particular.
Thank you!
