Lovely lunch at a country hotel, salads, burgers, very good quality ingredients. Very tasty and juicy meat and chicken. Friendly and cheerful staff. Beautiful surroundings at a small stream. Well worth a visit!

We went for dinner for my sons birthday. The food in general tasted great but my portion of fish was really small. I complained to the waitress who rather than doing anything about it just said that all the portions today were that size. This was a blatant lie as we had seen the portion on the table behind. I will not be back anytime soon.

Not many staff on duty, no reception area, they just use the bar. Room was nice but other parts of the hotel tired and in need of upgrading. The breakfast was surprisingly good considering it was buffet style. The evening meal was pretty good but not too sure about the mashed potato, reminded me of instant potato. On the down side the bar prices are among the dearest I've encountered, pretty sure everyone we saw on the two nights we were there complained about the bar prices.

Best food I've eaten anywhere. It was simply stunning. The lemon posset in particular was divine. The venison casserole was melt in the mouth and the duo of pork was real favourite. Murray the chef is supremely talented.

Staff generally very helpful and room clean. Bar very pricey More so than the 5* Stirling court where we had been two nights ago. However, if you can,t take gluten they just remove it from the dish or say you can,t have it. Nothing is substituted. So no oat cakes with the salmon and no garlic bread with the mussels - no sauce with the chicken which was served dry with mashed turnip and mashed potato! Fairly inedible. Also half the menu is coated with panto crumbs so what is left generally attracts a surcharge and menu very limited. We were there three days and by the end I was glad to be going home.
