What’s there not to absolutely love about this hotel? When you pull up to the hotel parking you question whether you made the right choice, BUT once you step foot on the property you feel something special right away.

Reception - You are greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. Dinora was beyond amazing from start to finish. We had been in contact in regards to my booking while I was here in the states. Then I met Carlos the following day and Carlos was amazing as well. The level of care and attention they provided us was the absolute best. I felt like family.

Now the rooms - we reserved two ocean front rooms. One double queen and one triple. The rooms were very nice and very clean. The views were just . I can’t get over it.

The food - we had breakfast there the two days we stayed. We ordered el típico. Though small, it was plentiful and delicious! Who wants to start off the day by overeating anyways? It was enough to get us going and ready for the day. We had lunch as well and the ceviche was GREAT!

The staff - the entire staff on the property were very nice and attentive. I have to give kudos to two who stood out...Joel and Alex. Just WOW! Their level of service and attention was out of this world. There was not a single moment where we felt we were missing anything. They made sure we were taken care of. Just as an example, I asked where the liquor store was and Joel walked us there. Got back to the hotel with my bottle and Joel asked if we needed ice, cups, lime and if we needed any mixers. We said sure...within 15 minutes everything was brought up to us. That’s just the start. I can go on and on about how Joel and Alex took care of us.

The same goes for Carlos at the front. He would call to check if we needed anything in the room. The service was just out of this world. Lastly, security. I didn’t get their names but they were amazing as well. Always greeted us and took great care of us even we my cousin and I would get back to the property late night and drunk ‍♂️.

Location - oceanfront and in the heart of it all. The Rock that the beach is known for is right in front of the hotel. Amazing views. For those looking to go out for an evening of music, drinks and dancing...you can walk to the many bars/clubs nearby. Super safe place with a lot of people from all over the world. We met people from the states, Brazil, Australia and many other countries.

I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Definitely get a Ocean view room if available. I can’t wait to go back later this month.

We waited for a very long time. The food came cold even while the restaurant was completely empty. How much effort is is to take care of a few customers...

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I traveled from Houston, TX to stay a night at Roca Sunzal and to host a luncheon for 10 people! 7 were just staying for lunch and to use the pool facilities!! I was shocked to learn when we arrived that “day passes” we limited and they had reached their limit when we arrived. I was very upset and disappointed since I had booked to stay with them because of their availability for rooms as well as day passes for my guests. The front desk gentlemen Cesar decided to go speak to the manager but at that point I also was looking for the manager! Everything was resolved within minutes and 4 of my guests were able to purchase day passes! The front desk people Cesar and Dinora could not have been nicer and the manager, which I don’t remember her name well but it was something like Oralis, was also very nice and gracious, she listened as I told her I had traveled so far to stay with them etc. And she didn’t think twice to make the exception for my guest. The room was incredible, the food at restaurant and bar were delicious and our waiter Joel was outstanding!! He even offered to reserve a table for breakfast the next morning over looking the beach for us!! The place is very clean, the pools are too!! I recommend this place for sure and will be returning with more family and friends in the future!!

This is our second time staying in Roca Sunzal and we always have a great time! The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. It's very family friendly - my 6 year old loved the pool and the food. As others have mentioned, it gets very loud on the weekends but it's part of what makes El Tunco a great weekend getaway.
