We were staying in a villa just outside Kalami for the last week for June, and walked down to this restaurant for our first evening meal out. Having watched The Durrells on TV, it was lovely to see the property. We had pre-booked by calling in earlier in the day and were invited to choose our preferred table, so opted for the 6 of us to be right against the water. It was idyllic, with views across the bay and the water lapping so close. Perhaps not so good if you have young children, or an accident-prone grown-up sister like me, who we put on the “land” side!!
We enjoyed carafes of local white and rose wine which we all deemed very drinkable. We had a variety of starters and mains plus some desserts to share and were very happy with everything. The meal was rounded off with complementary limoncello in a carafe for us to help ourselves. In fact we said we’d all be happy to come back here to end our holiday as it was the perfect evening. However with so many great tavernas in this area, we were spoilt for choice and decided we should go by boat to Nikolas Taverna in Agni (will review separately) – but to be honest the food at The White House was better.
Another day we hired a motorboat from the White House (they have an office on the other side of the road from the restaurant for this) and spent a lovely day out on the water, exploring the coves along this lovely stretch of coastline.
