Nice large room (we had a junior suite), with sofa, a couple of armchairs, 2 coffee tables and a desk. Nice bathroom with bath and huge walk-in shower. There was a fan supplied – we were there in one of the very hot weeks in July, and that was appreciated. Also a small refrigerator, though not very efficient. Only complaint was the coffee supplied in the room – 2 paper cups with premixed coffee powder in the bottom. This included powdered whitener AND sugar (more than 50% of the content!) I am diabetic, so could not drink this. (Certainly not what one would expect in a 4* hotel, but was one of the results of Covid restrictions, apparently!) Fortunately, the front desk were able to provide us with more conventional sachets of coffee, tubs of long-life milk and proper cups and saucers.
Breakfast on our first morning was a la carte, and very good. Thereafter, it was the more usual buffet, which was OK, though not as good as the first morning. Not sure why the change, perhaps they didn’t have enough guests that first day to warrant a buffet. There was always a large bowl of fruit, which sometimes got seriously depleted by some of the greedier guests who took rather more than their fair share of the choicer fruits. It was quickly replenished on request, though. We had dinner in the restaurant several times during our week there,...Nice large room (we had a junior suite), with sofa, a couple of armchairs, 2 coffee tables and a desk. The hotel is a wedding venue, and that provided us with a source of entertainment a couple of times, watching the wedding guests in the gardens from the dining room! There was music with the weddings, I believe, but fortunately our room was far away and we were never disturbed by this.
Overall, an enjoyable stay.More
