Spent a couple of hours with a guide at this site. Plenty of boards describing areas so not so much need for a guide. There is a church and museum on site, both of which are worth looking at. Around 1000 exhibits in the museum.

The remainings give a nice impression of how big Apollonia must have been. Some of them have signs giving you more information on what kind of building it has been, some have empty signs and a lot of them don't have any signs at all. The museum gives somewhat more information and exhibits beautiful archeological findings. Apollonia would benefit from more signings and/or maybe some guided or audio tours to tell you more about this fascinating city? However, we liked strolling around and imagining ourselves in an ancient city.

Good stop on your way south. The remainings give you a good idea of how it would have looked a long time ago.

Well organized and informative signage, fantastically laid out museum. Truly an amazing experience for a history or archeology buff, even on a very hot day.
