The word excellence applies to so many aspect of this place from its strategic location of bus stations with rides to/from
major towns both in Sweden and Norway, to a train station right across the road, a connector to the lovely lake and in the midst of the National Park this property, 2km of walkable distance to Abisko,is nothing but a joy. The ambience, the restaurant, the breakfast and yes the people are all wonderful. Rooms are so Cosy and inviting with splendid views for some and all the needed amenities are provided. Sightings of Aurora here are high, I caught sight of it twice in my three night stay - one by the lake and one from my room window! The easy trek down in darkness to the lake allows you to watch the aurora on the frozen lake (I walked a mile on it). The bus station outside the property sends you to Narvik Norway for a day trip and the train sends you back right at station opposite the property. All and all I love this place so much, just wish I have decided to stay longer. Those who want to catch the aurora without the need to pay for “chasing trips” this is the pay to come by. Strongly recommend.

Our stay here was delightful. Breakfast was tasty, and walking down to Lake Tornetrask was lovely. We saw the lights during our walk out there. You will find everything you might need here (there is a store), as well as modern comforts like wifi. The staff is helpful, and the settings are comfortable/charming. There are many sitting areas, and the dining room offers a sweeping, panoramic view of the lake below.

I stayed here in March 2018 as part of a group with Lights Over Lapland.

The single room was great: really comfortable bed, control of my radiator's temperature and en suite shower and facilities. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate (the best ever!) sachets were provided along with a kettle: great for when you return after a chilly night aurora watching.

The food is excellent: mainly local ingredients presented to really high standards. Breakfast and lunch are a buffet style with a more formal evening meal.

Great views from the rooms and plenty of activities in the area that can be booked through the hotel, or walks that can be taken at any time.

Great place to stay among the Arctic snow.

Its a nice place for hiking, cross country skii and northern light. 3 days are ideal. We did hiking in the area using the free maps available. Behind the houses, we saw northern lights as well. We came from Kiruna by train.

Just finished our first trip to Abisko and it won't be our last. Beautiful scenery and lots of outdoor things to do. We were with the Lights of Lapland photo tour and stayed in a double room. Not a large room so we had to be creative in how we stored our stuff without tripping over it. The beds were comfortable which I thought was interesting as the mattress was very thin. Maybe I was so tired from hiking and being outdoors that sleep came easy. There are no televisions anywhere in the lodge or in the bedrooms. We were in room 62 and we had a nice view. The shower was kind of part of the bathroom with a shower curtain that did little to keep water going everywhere but they provided a squeege to clean it up so all was good. The food was wonderful. Breakfast and lunch were buffet style. Three course dinner at night with moose, reindeer, and halibut being some of the offerings. They also offer vegetarian meals. We like ice with our water which you could only get from the dining room when it was open. It was -9 outside so we could cool our water with nature when needed. We took a bus from Kiruna to Abisko but it looks like the train would be easy as well.

Room Tip: Our room was on the east side room 62. It had a nice view but if there were rooms facing north that would be better.
