You know the usual procedure, you get dropped off outside the hotel reception, you walk into the plush surroundings, check in then make your way to the left or right or you go down the stairs or up the stairs to your accommodation, not here, you turn right around and go back outside where a nice chap in a buggy will take you back down the hill to your room, yes all those rows of chalet type buildings you saw when you left the main road and began the ascent up the hill ,are your rooms.
Some of the rooms right at the bottom have the private pools so you will have a lot further to walk to get to reception, the restaurants and swimming pool, you can of course ring for a buggy to pick you up. We were in block 3 which was half way and took a steady 6 minutes to walk.
We were delighted with the sea view from our large balcony which caught the sun in the afternoon, the room itself was well appointed with a big comfortable bed, it was only let down by the shower which was very tame and the head was non adjustable.
We had no one above or below us and only one room to the one side so it was quiet and not overlooked. Also in the room there is a fridge, you can't really call it a mini bar as there is only ever 2 small cans of beer and some Pepsi and water. Air con worked well.
On our second day we took the funicular down to the beach.
I was underwhelmed. It isn't picturesque, It didn't help that it rained but it's covered in fine grit and washed up debris so your feet sink into it and come out filthy. Don't wear open toed footwear, take old trainers.
We didn't feel inspired to want to go back.
Onto the dinning, first off I applaud the management for strictly enforcing the long trouser rule for evening meals, jeans are permitted and there's no need for formal shirts, common sense when dinning outside in an informal poolside setting and the table is yours for the evening, so often you can put your cutlery down and in a nano second it's all wisked away and you have staff hovering over you to vacate, not so here, on entering the restaurant be it breakfast lunch or dinner you are required to wait at the entrance to be shown to a table of your choice, this works so well and it's credit to the staff that there is never long queues for anything, furthermore and particularly at evening there is an air of serenity and calmness due in equal measures to the efforts of the staff and the backdrop views.
Food wise usually a good choice of various meats, fish and salad, Poolside service was often a bit slow before evening meal but strangely not related to the number of occupied tables, a 15-20 minute wait from sitting down to receiving was probably average.
We were on an all inclusive deal but confusingly sometimes we were asked for our room number (when ordering poolside, )sometimes we had to sign and sometimes , neither .The the lager beer on all inclusive was limited to one choice , and pretty tasteless, surely both the lager beers should be on the all inclusive tariff .
It would make life a lot easier for all concerned if guests had a card which was handed to the server , swiped and payment deducted automatically to your room according to your board, this would also avoid having to verbally tell the server your room number in the presence of other guests ( I witnessed one guest handing over a note with his room number on )

The entertainment was low key but in keeping with the ethos of the hotel, I was particularly impressed with the firework display and the band which was the special night all the staff are introduced to the guests.
During our stay we had several bouts of heavy rain and thunderstorms which disrupted the outdoor dining but again to the credit and hard work of the staff, the disruption was minimal.
For me I will have the fondest memories of sitting outside for our evening meals and enjoying the surroundings and the service, thanks to Eftimios and his crew for their hard work and professionalism.
If you have difficulty in walking , you will have to rely completely on the buggy service, which is not a problem if you are happy to wait , you can ring reception and you won't have to wait long, again the buggy guys , like all the staff are genuinely happy to assist
On a slightly down note, the islanders seems to be on a confrontation with the authorities over waste disposal, on your journeys you will see lots of waste bags in huge piles along the roadside, this situation needs to be sorted out because it looks disgusting.

Arrival at the hotel and checking in was quick and efficient we were taken to our room which was in the main building, we were grateful for this, as the hill is quite steep. The room was clean, tidy with enough wardrobe space, a large balcony with terrific views of the bay. The bathroom was tiled and very clean, my only fault was that most of the room was taken up with a bath leaving the shower and toilet cramped together at the far end, but this is Greece !!
The buffet restaurant was set by the pool and provided a relaxing setting for meals which were all buffet style with a good choice. Next to it was the bar where there was evening entertainment which was different every night and low key but very good.
Plenty of sun beds both next to the pool and on the lower garden area.
Plenty of activities if you wanted to be entertained during the day.
The most striking aspect of the hotel is its staff we found them all to be very helpful, courteous, efficient and friendly. putting in the extra effort to make sure we felt welcome all the time. A big thank you to all of you who made our holiday so special.

Room Tip: rooms not in the main building mean having to walk up and down the hill or use the buggies that are always ready to take guests up and down.

We visited for 2 weeks in the middle of June with a swim-up room.. i'll summaries the stay into the goods and bads, but in short the hotel was lovely and clean but certain elements definitely made it evident it was by no means a 5 star hotel!

Good:
The hotel staff is definitely the best point, they were all so accommodating and friendly with your requests and always recognized you
Overall the hotel was really very clean, quite modern, and the main restaurant area outside was lovely
The views from vertigo and the culinarium are very good a even if you're all inclusive I would recommend a visit (particularly vertigo)
The hotel is a nice size in terms of room numbers, so at dinner it doesn't feel really overcrowded
The beach is much better than other places i've stayed in terms of beds available, you could still go down at 10.30/11 and get a bed with people often leaving throughout the day.
The swim-up room was a definite must. I know it's fairly expensive but it really made the holiday a lot better to know that regardless of how busy it was or if you went for lunch you could always have somewhere to go. It was also very clean!
Bad:
The worst thing I have to highlight is that my partner is allergic to nuts, and although in their menus they have a small key with the nut symbol as something they recognize, not ONE item in the buffet said that it had nuts on when particularly on the dessert table it was absolutely covered with them. It got to the point where I would have to try all of the desserts first in case they had nuts in which is exceptionally frustrating and completely avoidable.
In the evenings there is no music up at the bar near vertigo except for the couple hours they have live entertainment so it often lacked any sort of atmosphere (although this bar is much quieter if you want to get a seat!)
We often would have dirty glasses with other peoples lipstick on, particularly down at the beach bar but also at dinner time which is really off putting.
The room cleaning was really not good. They would make the bed and give you clean towels but no more. We rarely had clean glasses in the room and as we had a swim up we liked spending the afternoons up there meaning we had to wash up our own glasses.. they also have little cards to put on the bed asking when you want your bedding changed in an attempt to be eco friendly, but our card was ignored for all two weeks and they changed the bedding when they decided they wanted too!
The shower was exceptionally leaky and went all over the bathroom floor.
The funicular was pretty frustrating and initially, when we first arrived and used the buggies to get around they were very good but as the holiday went on we would end up waiting nearly 10 minutes just to go for dinner. You really take for granted how nice it is at most hotels just to be able to walk around.
The swimming pool go busy very early
The cocktails are very inconsistent throughout the hotel. Given the prices at the menu i would be really disappointing if i had to pay for some of them!
Particularly in our second week there were an awful lot of children and families on the beach. Although they were very good at keeping the sun loungers to hotel guests it's quite frustrating choosing an adults only hotel to have children screaming all over the beach anyway!

We arrived well before check in time , greeted with a glass of sparkling and told our room was ready
We were in the main hotel (room 155 ) which was lovely, spacious and clean. With a bottle of wine, fruit and baclava for us .Bathroom a bit dated and mini bar empty for 2 days.
Rooms 151 - 164 seem to be the best as the others, as has been said previously, are a long walk
Weather was very dodgy the whole time we were there , thunderstorms, lightning, flooding, torrential rain , but the staff took it all with good humour
Vasilikas , the guest relations manager was exceptional, we particularly liked the service from the grey eyed trainee in the restaurant
The maitre d was excellent as were all the management team , they all work so hard and such long hours
Our favourite part of the day was after lunch going to the vertigo bar to see vasilis and Anna , weather permitting.
On our last night we went to the a la carte restaurant on the beach , excellent food and service, though way too much for us
Downside- pool beds go very quickly, l went for a walk one morning at 730 & the premium ones were gone . The beach is not great.
Also we didn’t know about the long trouser rule , our mistake , but we think if the men have to wear long trousers, women shouldn’t be allowed in with very short shorts and midriffs showing !

This was a fantastic Hotel, from the helpful staff to the lovely grounds it is set in
Our room was about 200 metres down from main reception but the golf buggy is always on hand never walked up once
Food great ,service great staff fantastic and great entertainment
Plenty of sun beds , lovely pool and great rooms
Only downside was the state of Corfu from the airport to the Hotel ,what a dump literally, household rubbish not been collected for two months and no one cares
It was piled up next to each town everywhere
Then the Corfu government has the front to charge you 2euros each nite to stay on this rubbish tip ..
