The fort is located on the sea shore and one can enjoy magnificent view of sea and sunset from here.
Fort is kept in very good condition and has many places to enjoy the sea, it's located in cantt area so we have to pay some amount to enter and then parking. Parking space is good but full open so your car will be parked under the sun.
We can see the fish market and fisherman boats from one of the walls of this fort. Overall we have enjoyed the visit.

Historical landmark in Kannur; a reminiscence of Portugese, Dutch & British footprints in Indian history that was subsequently challenged by local Indian rulersTippu Sultan and Zamorins. Sea erosion has taken its toll on the western side, yet a well preserved Monument that should be amongst the top in the list of must see places of North Kerala

The Fort built by the Portuguese has some excellent history linked to Portuguese history in Kannur. It is well maintained. A Lot of greenery and landscaping which one may not see in other first. It is also right next to the famous Payyambalam beach which provides the perfect setting especially during sunset. Worth a visit.

An old fort, with the sea waves hitting it's walls. A perfect scenic fort placed in the Kannur's famous sea-shore. It lets us experience the history. The place is well maintained, & is quite beautiful. It's a nice place to visit.

It was a good experience. It's at a distance of 20minutes walk from the bus stand. The fort is well maintained. Police aid post is there. You could get cut mangoes from there. There is a beautiful garden. This fort was shoot in many films. Myself along with my 3 other friends spend almost 2hrs there.
