Tbh the guest houses through Laos really aren't much to bang on about, really poor quality by our normal western standards.
We picked this place going on the reviews as we just wanted a better place to stay after a poor run of guesthouses recently, staying 08/05/15. Well it's not the ritz lol but it's certainly not bad. 4 star for Laos. We got there just as the fella was opening up near 0700. Came off a night bus from Vientiane. Like plonkers we walked from the bus station to here, 3 or 4km, not that much but when your tired not a good idea. The tuk tuk should cost 10000 kip as that's what we paid, back to the bus station by tuk tuk after our one night stay. The fella at the reception let us check in very early at no extra cost, and going on the advice from TripAdvisor we asked for a bigger room in the back building after he showed us a smaller room just behind the reception area which we didn't like. He was fine with it, but don't be afraid to ask if you don't like the first room your shown. The rooms are a bit tired, fairly clean but have all been rewired as all the old wires are still there poking out, same for all rooms I think. Sack the electrician for a sloppy job !
Wifi is alot weaker in the back but just sit out the building is ok. Front building is good wifi. Reception is hardly manned but didn't need anything but there is a phone number if you require anything. Felt like we had the place to ourselves but there was one other couple there on checkout. Would recommend as this is above par for Laos guesthouses. The owner is very laid back fella. He let me borrow a bike quick to cycle to the bus station to get me bus tickets and some food. But beware all bikes need a good service. Would recommend as you can do alot worse.
