We stayed at the Mystic River resort for 3 nights and 4 days. The staff was very courteous, and accommodating to our every need. As a vegetarian, they prepared delicious hearty meals for me every day- not just salads!! My friend- who is not vegetarian- said the Pork Chops and Mystic Burger were to die for! Their bar had daily specials, that were all very good as well! We were treated as part of the family. The cabin was exceptional, with a view of the river, a fireplace and a very soothing hot shower!! As for excursions, we had a very friendly guide- Ben Cruz- who showed us around the ATM cave, the Rio On Pools, Caracol and WE EVEN MANAGED TO SEE A JAGUAR!! I would recommend Mystic River to anyone looking for a Royal Jungle Experience!!

My second trip to Mystic River finished a couple of weeks ago. I spent three nights at Mystic River Resort and it was wonderful. Leo, the bartender sent from heaven, fixed specialty drinks every night as we sat in the bar and discussed our experiences of the day with other guests. That made things more fun as we got ideas for tomorrow!
Every night the dining room has three specials plus a full selection from the menu. I gravitated to the fish most nights, and David, the chef, made every special truly that - something really special.
I will bring my friends back to Mystic River. It's like being a thousand miles from civilization, watching toucans and iguanas outside your window, while having all the comforts of a first class hotel. Try it - you'll fall in love with it!

Room Tip: Every room has a river view and each cabin is somewhat secluded from the others. You can't go w...

We spent a few days on the beach then flew to Belmopan, where we were met by Tom Thomas, the owner of Mystic River. He and his wife Nadege have built a spectacular five-star resort in the jungle. The food is excellent, the bar is wonderful and the accommodations are individual cabanas with a fireplace and a patio overlooking the Macal River. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Tom and Nadege (and Gina, who runs the office) take care of your every need. They can arrange tours, canoe trips, anything you need. We camped out at the Mayan ruin of Caracol on the last night of the Mayan calendar, thanks to their arranging things! Thank you, Tom and Nadege, for a wonderful trip. WE WILL BE BACK!

Room Tip: I like room 1 best because it's more secluded. Room 11 and two brand-new rooms (6 and 7, I thin...

By "accident" my son and I arrived mistakenly at the Mystic River Resort in Belize while looking for an alternate resort which we had contacted by telephone the evening before from Belize City....divine providence.... and just before December 21. 2012.....

Our four day stay was amazing. Right from Tom and Gina's warm welcome through transport to Belmopan on our departure, nothing could have been topped our experiences while guests of the Mystic River Resort.

Owner Nadege, is a "make it happen person" and partner Tom's vision and gentle constance is a perfect balance...the result.... ultimate relaxation and enjoyment for guests. We felt like family by the time we left.

The Mystic River Resort has wonderful staff and guides, great food, heartfelt owners and beautiful environs and creature comforts. I look forward to a return visit!

We spent 4 days and 4 nights at Mystic River and every minute of it was fantastic. Tom, Nadege and their staff made sure we were taken care of from the moment we arrived. By the time we left we felt like family. We highly recommend waiting to book your adventures until you arrive at Mystic River. One of the conveniences we enjoyed was that we could go to dinner at their restaurant and with the help of Tom and Nadege we would determine what we would do the next day. They would arrange everything which made it easy so all we had to do was enjoy our trip. They have the best guides(ours were Lloyd and Ben) that make sure you have an experience of a lifetime. We split our vacation between Mystic River and the beach on Ambergris Caye and wished we had spent more time at Mystic River. You have the ability to relax or fill your time with adventure - either way you'll have a great time. Pictures can't do the beauty of this place justice.
