There are very extensive revues of this hotel which give a fair reflection of the resort. I would say that it is a 4 star rather than 5 star resort if comparing to European standards. Like a Club Mark Warner Hotel in the West Indies, just minus the kids!

Useful things to know.

1. English three pinned plugs.
2. Drive on the left, if you can bare to drag yourself away hiring a car gives you a great opportunity to see more of the island.
3. Tea making facilities in the room with filter coffee maker.
4. The free snorkel trip that they offer is worth it for a chance to get out on the water but not much to see when you get there. The boat goes just around the tip of Pigeon Island and gives you a different perspective of the resort. Snorkeling at Jalousie Beach 100% better and great views of the Pitons too.
5. Dress codes for restaurants. Resort Casual = Dress shorts of jeans, swimwear must be covered, no bare feet. Resort evening attire = Dress pants for men, shirts with sleeves and collar, dress shoes (closed toe). Most couples I would say were "smart casual" rather then French Chic. Food was hit and miss and it is a long way to travel to have a themed Pub, a Creperie and an Italian restaurant. A really good dedicated St. Lucian traditional restaurant would have been most welcomed. On the whole whilst the food was well presented an awful lot of it was very bland as previous guests have commented.
6. Rooms are somewhat dated but spotlessly clean.
7. No mosquitoes/midges whilst we were there.
8. Don't expect to have a leisurely lay in, unfortunately the resort does not discourage reserving sunbeds. I saw people bagging beds at 6am! The cabana on the beach next to us one day had towels put on it before we had arrived (9 am), a woman then came along and scooped them up at 3.30pm having not used it all day. Meanwhile a couple next to it had been denied the opportunity to have any shade and fried all day in the heat! So either way you have to set an alarm, if only to kick your husband out of bed to reserve one with some shade!
That said, would we return? Undoubtedly yes because what made this resort apart from the wonderful setting was the absolutely charming and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and all requests were met with "No problem, No Pressure" and lovely smiles!

Room Tip: Penthouse Sea view Honeymoon Concierge room in block 4 gave great views, was quiet but furthest from restaurants.

Great resort for honeymooners! This resort was great for people who love to party and have fun, but you also had the option of getting away from the crowd for a quiet afternoon nap. The water sports were all included at this resort. We went snorkeling and all of the equipment is provided. Water skiing is also included! Be sure to try a BBC at the bar!

First of all ill do the thanks first, and i have rated this five but there seems to be a technical issue with my pc

And that is to a very close couple of returning friends of ours for getting us to st lucia for the first time, and i must say im well hooked. So thanks carlos and julie.
A very big thankyou to Prisca on the soon come back desk, she was a star, very hard working, and a pleasure to be around, also a big thankyou to Nardi who could not do enough for us to help in any way, she was brilliant.

Ok here we go ,this holiday was fantastic in all sorts of ways, on arrival we were greeted with ice cold towels and a glass of champagne, to which was perfect after a long day, and that was the last time we saw our cases until we got to our rooms. The rooms were perfect, they looked over the ocean and the gardens and at night and in the mornings you could listen to the tranquility noises of ocean and cretatures, what a way to be.They were cleaned to a mint condition every day.

The staff at this place were fantastic, ive never met so many helpfull and happy people in all my holiday experiances, nothing was a problem to these people they would go out of there way to help in any shape or form they could, and work hard, well i cant prase the staff enough, the entertainment, the bar staff, the gardeners, the pool attendents, the cleaners, etc, etc, everyone never stopped working to make everyone happy.,Ive read some negative reports on certain sites in the past and all i can say is, they must have been somewhere else.

The beach was mint along with the calm warm waters of a true caribbean happiness set in a fantastic bay, along with all the lovely gardens that surround the hotel, true heaven.
The pools were spotless and cleaned constantly, there were quiet ones each end of the hotel if you wanted to just chill out and relax, the main pool was also fantastic especially at around 14.30-15.00 when it was pina colada time with extra rum, everyone seamed to get together and have a real good time and socialise, we met some realy good friends whilst doing this, especially debbie, hugh, les and sue.
The bar staff at the pool were in a league of there own, utterly brilliant, so a big thanks to them.

There was plenty of activities to do here if you wanted, quiet or loud energetic or not, the choice is yours.
The restuarants were fantastic and the service and standard of food was out standing no complaints from us in any way at all. The food was so fresh and topped up all the time.
We went to a beach party there and it turned out to be one of the best nights ive ever experienced, you cannot believe how good the food and drinks were considering how many people were there on the beach, the staff worked all day setting this up, so again top marks there., If you want to see some really fasinating entertainment at a beach party , then this is the place to be, it was amazing stuff from start to finish.

The staffs ball and award party was also a must, as above so well done to them for that as well, and this goes on until youve had enough, fantastic.
I could sit here for hours talking about this place so theres only one thing to do, and thats get out there and try it out for yourselves.

Because as ARNIE says (ILL BE BACK)

Room Tip: all rooms seem to be good, but if you want quiet then try rooms at front or ends of hotel our room was 1310 tranquill 3rd floor

Our suite was on the Atlantic side and we could see the ocean from our bed. We enjoyed the quiet and privacy on that side and the sound of the waves.. During the day we enjoyed the great sunsets on the Caribean side and the gorgeous coastline and mountain side. We had the superior honeymoon suite without concierge service and were happy with it. Especially our first afternoon there we found champagne, chocolates and flower petals for our anniversary. The people were friendly and nice. Especially at the spa and the scuba activities. I had a great scuba dive guide Kerney Evans, who showed us a lot under water and had a water proof book he would show us first before pointing different sea life. He was the best guide and buddy I ever had. We spent a half day at La Toc and had breakfast at Amandeas on the hill side. The breakfast was delicious and the views outstanding, then lunch at Neptunes was also very good. We decided to go there to see if the snorkeling was better, but had to take a shuttle to the mariner to get to another site. It was a little tiring and we didn't see that much more than by Pigeon island. We were a little disappointed in the snorkeling since there wasn't that much sea life. I did see two colorful squid that was pretty cool. Overall the food and drinks were very good, we enjoyed the catch of the day for lunch at Mariners every day. Toscininis and the French restaurant was also very good, along with the crepes and desserts at Josephines were outstanding. The most disturbing thing however had nothing to do with the hotel but with St Lucia. A warning to others before leaving for this island is that if your passport expires before 6 months they could stop you from going there or deport you in St Lucia unless you have an original birth certificate. I didn't find the trip from the airport as bad as everyone wrote in the reviews since I have been on those type of roads before, and found the trip scenic.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here in 2006. When we arrived we were immediately welcomed as if we were returning guests. We had the "swim up to your room" room. Although there were quite a few young couples staying at the hotel at the time, everyone was wonderful and friendly and you felt as if age didn't matter. That was 7 years ago and every day since we left the island, we are vowing to go back because it was the next best place to Heaven we have been to and we have traveled to quite a few places together.
