Description: Creating a cooking philosophy cannot be done in a short time. Susanna and Fabrizio to build their culinary definition started off from family tradition; thereafter their aim partially changed reaching a new balance between tradition and innovation. Of primary importance for them are a continued research for quality and the bond with the territory, without neglecting creativity The dream was "to open a restaurant where to go with pleasure to eat": thus a corporate executive - Fabrizio, and the manger of the family farm - Susanna, both with a passion for good food, turned into "a host and a chef" . The opportunity presented itself with the visit to the property that shortly after would have become, the home of "The Goccino" restaurant: a love at first sight, for the special environments that characterized it and the superb terrace overlooking the Val di Chiana. The business started off as a wine bar, to turn during the first few years into a charming restaurant. It began with Tuscan f

What a choice! Sunday afternoon dinner was a hands down a great choice. My husband and I spent a festival day in Lucignano where we honeymooned 15 years ago. We were greeted by a friendly staff who escorted us into the dining room. The first thing that impressed me was to see the owner participating the the service and working well with his staff. We were pleased to know that they had a gluten free menu. We chose an area bottle of wine. I ordered a garden salad and my husband had the truffle, asparagus, egg and fried parm salad. He raved about it. It was very different and the blend of ingredients delightful and light. For the second course he had the rabbit, with sweet beet sauce, carrots and smoked potatoes. Another win. I had a gluten free pasta with ragu sauce. They even brought gluten free crackers and roll. I must make note of the balsamic they used. It was fantastic. We indulged ourselves and ate everything on our plates. A restaurant of this caliber deserves a five star rating.

We decided to have what is considered an early dinner in Italy. We arrived for a 07:30 pm seating with our reservation. We had a very friendly greeeting and we escorted to our table at the bac k the restaurant on the terrace. It has a beautiful view of the Italian valley and we could smell the jasmine flowers that were on the terrace wall. A very good menu of local cuisine and the wine list featured some of the best Tuscan wines. We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed it throughly. We recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a fabulous dining experience.

Lunch here on a pretty May afternoon on their inviting terrace. We both had a pecorino flan to start. It was outstanding. My wife had the local lake fish and I had the braised rabbit in a sweet beet purée that was delicious. Good service, fine wine and exceptional food. That's hard to beat.
