Puerto Morelos is a small laid-back town between Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

Most activities revolve around the ocean reef, which is a protected area and as a result, very healthy with corals and fish. Protected means, among other things, no jet skis or parasails allowed.

Lots to do...or not do.

-Beautiful, unspoiled uncrowded white sand beach
-Excellent snorkelling or diving on the national park protected reef
-Dive snorkel or swim Cenotes, unusual fresh water caves
-Puerto Morelos is a good base to explore Mayan ruins like Chichen Itza,
Tulum, Coba and Ek Balam
-Visit colonial cities like Valladolid or Merida

How to get there

From the airport you can take different types of transportations, first, there are taxis waiting at the airport and you can take any of this with no problema the only thing is that they are expensive compared to what you can get online. You can also take a shuttle bus that goes to Playa del Carmen and you can get off in Puerto Morelos, the only thing with this is that you have to get another transportation to your hotel once you get to Puerto Morelos. And the last one is reserving a transportation online which is cheaper and more comfortable, there are several companies that can take you, these are some:
