Ljubljana is a great place to go for the American expatriate living or traveling in Austria and the northern Italy area.  The big draw that the city has for some is that Slovenian is too small of language for American movies to be dubbed.  As a result almost all movies shown there are shown in English with Slovenian subtitles.  Americans can get into the country with only a passport and the city is a short drive from either border.  There used to be a Dairy Queen there, but it is gone now. There are a few McDonalds, however. The food does not really resemble anything in the United States.  However, for the homesick traveler, a greasy burger with the McD logo on it and an American movie in English can be a welcome reminder of home.
