Kemer is located on Turkey's Mediterranean side and has incredible beaches, thus has become a popular destination hotspot.

Turkey's history dates back to 7500 BC and its first civilization to really strike an impact were the Hittites. The Hittites dominated during the Bronze Age but later the Greek pushed their way in followed by the Persians, Alexander the Great, Celts, and more. To say the least, the area was undergoing constant change.

When Roman rule came in along with Christianity, things settled down for several centuries until the Islam invaders came in and added more pressure but, finally the Ottoman Empire cleaned up all the mess and claimed Turkey as their own along with Iran and Iraq. So, in the 13th century the Ottoman Empire was ruling and even took over Constantinople, this in turn was the birth of Istanbul. They continued to grow more and more powerful over the years until national sentiments grew bitter and the people began to revolt. The Greek Revolution influenced more groups of people to branch off and become independent.

But, it wasn't until 1923 that the true Republic of Turkey was founded. Since then it has continued to go through internal and external struggles as a nation between the Middle Eastern and European influences. But one thing remains stable, tourism; especially in Kemer where the beaches are hot and beautiful.
