Orang Asli Village is about 10 km from Johor Bahru. This fishing village is located near the sea and it is about 10 min by boat from Danga Bay. The villagers live in wooden huts with zinc roofs and eke out a simple living by fishing and harvesting mussels from the sea. They have no proper toilets and all human wastes are discharged into the sea. However when the tide comes in, the Orang Asli kids will plunge into the water to swim. The kids are expert swimmers. They can climb coconut trees and pluck the fruit. They do have radios, mobile phones and DVD players. Their only means of transport to the city is by bicycle, motorcycles and cars. However most of them do not own cars as they are economically not well off. The kids play football and they socialize very well with friends and strangers.
