During the low season in Costa Rica, intermittent to heavy rains occur, making the foliage which is home to thousands of different kinds of species so plush, so green, and so full of life! Birds singing, Howler monkeys roaring, "Pasotes" scurrying about, and on occasion, the local stray dog arrives and says hello. During the rainy season the dirt roads are a bit problematic, but doable. Take heed, and drive slow!
Know that when visiting here in the high season, it will be hot, humid, and dusty, yet full of life and activity, and endless things to do such as, Yoga, Massage, Zip Lining, Rock Climbing, Surfing, Swimming, (Beware of rip tides), Snorkeling, Fishing, Hiking, (Hike Cabo Blanco Natl. Reserve) in the rainforest! You will not be disappointed!
Enjoy the love, serenity and peace of Montezuma, But, beware of the poor roads in this area. You will need a 4x4 in this part of the Nicola Peninsula and at times during the rainy season, as the roads can be quite difficult. You might consider renting a 4x4 vehicle for your stay or just hire the local taxi drivers or tour companies to accommodate you. Cab rides aren't that expensive and there are tour buses and shuttles as well.
