Chatham is the town that sticks out into the water more then any other town in the country which is helpful in understanding that Chatham was and still is in some ways a town with a major fishing industry. To this day you can head over the Chatham Fish Pier and see fisherman unloading what they have caught which will probably end up in one of the restaurants in town.

Fishing has lost of its lure the 21st century but to this day it rivals tourism in Chatham as the major economic source in town. Chatham sees thousands of tourists come from all over the world to stroll Main Street over sit on the beach. Families travel from the hustle and bustle of New York City and Boston to Chatham to spend time at their summer homes others are tourists from around the nation and around the world who want to visit a true New England beach community.
