The house is well equipped and beds are luxurious. Everyone of the group had a great time.

It had everything

This is the second time in 3 months we have stayed a Dalkeith house and we have had two fantastic holidays.The only thing that lets this house down is the photographs in the flesh the house is a lot better. The owners are wonderful people and can't do enough to make you stay a good one without seeing them I would recommend this house to anyone.

5 star does not do it justice. Excellent stay where Everything you could possibly think of was catered for. Beautiful setting, friendly people wherever we went in the village.

Although from the photos we could see that the house was beautiful we was still shocked at the size and just how perfect it was. On arrival we was made to feel welcome and great to meet the owner rather than turning up and getting the keys from a key box and having to work things out for ourselves. Just walking into the entrance hall was amazing seeing the beautiful tree and beautiful staircase, our excitement continued when being shown around the rest of the house with all of the rooms beatifully decorated and all well equipped, we have all agreed that the beds were the best we have ever slept in. Preparing christmas dinner was a ride in the park with the size of the kitchen and the amount of kitchenware available to us and to finish it off eating in the dining room with the lovely table and decorations, we felt like we were having a banquet. Another room that was used all of the time was the games room, there are consoles, sky TV and lots of movies availabe, the kids loved it and not forgetting the sonos system that sounded great especially with the christmas music playing. We ate in the Grapes hotel which was nice and very convenient and also in the Eskdale hotel in Langholm on boxing day which was also very nice. The property is in a lovely location with everything you need and the locals are very friendly. I could go on about this property for alot longer and I know it will always stay in my mind as a very special christmas that we spent there. We hope to return In the future.

The House lived up to its 5 star rating. Beautiful surroundings Quality fixtures, superbly equipped kitchen and public rooms which adapt to any occasion. Excellent catering from local Copshaw Kitchen, highly recommend. Family and friends enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing break at "Dalkeith House" and would hope to return in the future. Dalkeith House is a beautiful Georgian House with a nice garden in the lovely village of Newcastleton. It is exceptionally well maintained and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. We came for a family birthday with some family staying in the house and others staying in hotels just along the road. We spent a great afternoon doing activities at Rock UK about a mile away - zip wires private hire of pool etc and in the evening a buffet was provided by local caterers Copshaw Kitchen. They served drinks and canapés in the entrance hall which was perfect for a large gathering and making toasts from the beautiful staircase. Food was great and better still all the washing up taken care of! This is a great venue for a celebration or a relaxing holiday. Plenty of room in the house - lovely large sitting room and TV /games room for the kids. Photos don't really do the house justice. Lovely walks locally and a golf course at edge of village. We have stayed in a lot of luxury houses and villas but this is definitely one of the best. We had a great time and Barbara the owner was very helpful with the organisation of our celebration. We will definitely be back.

What a fantastic holiday had by all at Dalkeith House. This s truly 5star accommodation and caters for every need, nothing at all has been forgotten! Fabulous walks and cycles. Newcastleton has amazingly friendly locals. We had drinks in the hotels and The Trap and also ate in both the Olive Tree and the Copshaw Kitchen. Absolutely gorgeous food, would definitely recommend. The welcome lemon drizzle cake was appreciated also the butcher’s sausage rolls were the tastiest we have ever had! Will definitely revisit this amazing property, thank you Barbara.

We were looking forward to seeing the house after the photos made it look so beautiful. We weren't disappointed! Dalkeith House is a fantastic place to stay with the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, the garden is a peaceful sun trap and the living areas are superb. Our boys especially enjoyed the games room with X-box and huge tv. We spent two half days at Whitehaugh Park taking part in adventurous activities - highly recommended. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. The Copshaw Kitchen was superb, both for evening meal and take away. A highly recommended destination for a short break!

Beautiful Georgian house with all modern amenities made for an excellent venue for a reunion of friends for a long weekend. The house was loved by young and old alike with the kids loving the TV/ games room and the adults the drawing room with log burner. The entrance hallway and stairwell is particularly stunning and a first class Sonos sound system throughout the public rooms certainly added to the enjoyment of our stay. The village itself was a real gem in the Scottish Borders with plenty of choice of eateries and take away establishments for such a rural location. It was also a great half way location for our group who were half from the east and half from the west coast. A fantastic weekend was had by all.
