The cottage is perfectly set above the village in an olive tree plantation. The adjacent little farm with three cows and chickens provides you with fresh milk, cheese and eggs. In case you have children they will find lots of space to run around and explore the farm. The cottage is well equipped with all you need for a living. We came here the second time and can fully recommend the cottage.

Wonderful location on the hillside with fabulous views along the lake. Jeannie was so helpful beforehand with lots of advice. Great base to go on visits to Como, Milan, Monte Generoso (Switzerland - an hour away). Lenno has lots of places to eat without being too touristy. Hired speedboat on the lake as well as ferry trip to Belagio. Antonella, the farmer.housekeeper was lovely and friendly. House itself was lovely haven to come back to. Highly recommended.

Roveglio is a great location above Lake Como. Very big apartment with a terrific view of the lake and village of Lenno. Peacefully located in an olive orchard on a working farm with goats and cows. The apartment has a fully functioning kitchen, outstanding patio with a great view. Two bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and it has two full bathrooms. It is a pretty steep climb to get to the farm as Jennie explains in the description, but just drive slow, no problem. The only issue was the internet was out due to previous weather problems; minor issue. Awesome stay, thank you Jeannie!

To get round Italian landline issues we installed a satellite link, which is generally the most reliable. But there are occasional thunderstorms. My husband relies on it for business, so good internet access is a priority for us too.

It was our first visit to the Italian Lakes and what a fabulous way to start. Roveglio is a beautifully refurbished farmhouse with simply unbelievable views along the lake. It is set in acres of olive trees and provides very spacious and comfortable accommodation with everything you could possibly need (including very useable WiFi, if you need to keep in touch). The restaurants and bars in Lenno are terrific and, as you would expect from Italy, very friendly but it is well worth spending some time getting to grips with the Lake Como ferries, which open upon a huge number of other lakefront towns to visit, explore and most importantly, have lunch in!! The owner, Jeannie, has supplied a very useful folder providing details on things to do and places to go - use it and you will save a lot of time. In all, a beautiful place to stay in every respect and we will most certainly be going back.

We had a lovely but all too short holiday. There is so much to do in this location- including just relaxing at the house, which is beautifully situated with views of the lake and surrounded by the farm terraces. Worth the steep climbs (up and down) involved. To get the most out of it you have to be reasonable fit, our hire car was not up to the job! I would recommend a 4 wheel drive. We would definitely visit again and try and fit in all the things we didn't have time for.

Magnificent view of lake Como from this spacious, well equipped accommodation. Set in the hills bordering the Lake heed the advice of the owner and rent a car with at least a 1.2cc engine and good ground clearance. But not too big as some roadways are narrow. Walking to the local restaurants is a test but very well worthwhile from a both the fitness point of view and for the quality of food at the end. Take the old mule path from the Church - it is shorter if a little steeper. The whole experience was near perfect - my only gripe ( as a group of 4 adults) being the relatively small area to sit in the sun on loungers of which there were only two. Pleasantly surprised to find full and free WiFi

We spent the second week of our honeymoon at Roveglio after spending the first week travelling around Italian cities and were ready for a change of pace. Jeannie, the owner, had been extremely helpful and provided us with excellent directions from Milan Airport as well as answering any queries we had. When we arrived at the cottage we were met by the lady from the farm next door who gave us the key and showed us in to the property. We were delighted with the property. It was light and airy and very clean. There was also a pack with lots of information on things to do and see and places to eat etc. We cracked open a bottle of Prosecco (from the little supermarket at the bottom of the hill) and ventured out on to the balcony terrace. The views are completely stunning and photographs simply do not do them justice! At the time we stayed the weather was beautiful, warm sunshine and blue skies but the mountains were still snow capped, it really was breathtaking. We were also able to purchase various items of dairy produce from the farm next door at an extremely reasonable price and they were very accommodating and wiling to show us round the farm (they did not speak very good English though but this just added to the fun!) You could sometimes hear the goats skipping around on the hillside with their little bells, it was beautiful. There is plenty to do and explore in the village. There is a delightful local market on Tuesday mornings where we purchased some lovely fish and vegetables. There are many delightful public walks of varying levels of effort/length to take in the surrounding sights as well as activities and cafes around the lake. We would recommend the little boat trip over the lake to Villa del Balbianello (Star Wars fans may recognise the view from the balcony there!). Jeannie also gave us details of plenty of things on offer just a short drive away but we found on this occasion that we simply didn't get chance! We will just have to go back again to continue where we left off! To summarise, we had an amazing time during our stay at Roveglio and plan to go back there again. It was the perfect way to end our honeymoon and we have many fond memories and photographs to look back on!

The cottage is roomy, very well equipped and has magnificent views from the two terraces across Lake Como. It is pleasant to walk downhill to the lakefront to sample the many restaurants but often too tempting to stay put and enjoy an al fresco meal and a lovely bottle of local wine on one of the terraces whilst watching boats sail across the lake and enjoying stunning sunsets. It is perfect for families, with lots of equipment provided, a large separate laundry room, plenty of room for children to run about and lots of lidos and child-friendly activities in easy reach, however, you would also be hard pressed to find a more idyllic spot for a couple to enjoy a romantic break. The estate makes it's own cheese and olive oil (both delicious). We have stayed twice, both times during August, and found it ideal. The excellent lido at Lenno has always been uncrowded and so have the ferries across to Bellagio and attractions such as Villa Carlotta. There are a few companies from which you can hire a motorboat and enjoy a great day out on Lake Como.

About the neighbourhood
Around Lake Como for the more active, there's swimming, water sports and great walking; if you're feeling adventurous there's an aerial rope course near Bellagio, a few golf courses (but remember the gradients) and cycling and mountain biking. For those interested in history and art there are beautiful villas, churches, military fortifications and museums. And for those seeking La Dolce Vita, there are great restaurants, bars and cafes to simply watch the world go by - oh, and did I mention the shopping! Speaking personally, it's about sitting on the terrace with a book and a drink, watching the view. That's after I've taken a walk to the bakery in Mezzegra, stopping off for a cappuccino at Bar Sport in Lenno. And contemplating what comes next - a boat trip to Bellagio or Varenna, laz...
