lovely waterside appartment with disabled access , has two bedrooms one with a ensuit wet room perfect for wheel chair user or any one else there is a second toilet and sink off the kitchen , great garden , with a gate looking right down the river , watch the boats unload there catch , or the many water birds on the estuary as the tide gos out . just five minutes walk to appledore quay with its many pubs and restaurants as well as village shop and post office

Beautiful spot!
Really enjoyed my stay, such a beautiful location on the bend of the estuary. Really comfortable bed and I’d definitely stay here again

I start by saying the one positive comment re this property. It was clean. Everything else was just awful. Firstly the situation. In the middle of Harland & Wolffs shipyard with a fish market at the end of the block. The cottage is described as being a flat easy walk into town and being wheelchair accessible. Anyone pushing a wheelchair into town would face a long, no pavement hike. Easy - no. I believe it was recognised that the property was virtually unmarketable as it stood, so someone jumped on the ‘disabled’ bandwagon by installing a couple of ramps and attracting a niche market. Internally it was so awful, we stayed one night out of four booked leaving at 6.30 am. I seriously considered not cleaning my teeth so as to reduce the time spent there. The furniture was worthy of a junk shop. You could feel and hear the springs move in the bed. There was no natural light in the sitting room except from the glass panels in the door. Sitting on the sofa, you sank nearly to the floor. A disabled person would need a hoist to get off it. The outdoor wooden furniture shown on the pic is now tatty green scratched plastic. The bins were overflowing. Everywhere smelt of air freshener used to disguise a fusty smell. Truly dire.

Over priced and disappointing
The list is endless. Dangerous shower over heating, all so water never drained from plug hole we needed to mop up water . Dirty accommodation.Garden was a mess leading to fish factory and steelyard. Picture on web page was staged. Old garden furniture dog mess on grass. Faulty lamp. Light bulb missing. Rubbish in draws in kitchen. This is the first time we needed to clean up before we could unpack. The wardrobe in the double room was broken the rear panel was broken, the only draws were broken falling apart and full of spare pillows also under bed was more pillows.the bed were very uncomfortable. So in the end we left early. All good reviews out of date.

Dont stay here. Dangerous property
Dont stay here!! - review for Garden View apartment. 677366380 Very badly maintained - to the point of being dangerous. I have taken video as well (see links) as pictures of items like broken plug sockets, windows that don't close - therefore reduce security - not great when you have small children. Electrical boxes not protected - so children can get into them. Water heaters obstructed by lounger cushions - giving rise to a fire risk. Even the toilet seats didn't even fit the toilet. There was NO WIFI - at all. We looked for a signal, a box - nothing. The letter box cover was on the floor. Only one light worked in one of the bedrooms. The TV in the bedroom picked up 4 channels - none that anyone would ever want to watch. The cooker was filthy - we didn't use it so went out for a meal instead. The lamp in the dining area didn't work - and had a PAT test date of 2012 was just sat on the floor. The dining chairs were all worn to the point that all of the underneath of the chair was visible - from an infection control POV - it is appalling. No PAT test on kettles/toasters. Smell of mould in the kitchen cupboards. The toaster itself was dirty. In the bathroom at the end of the kitchen, there were screws hanging out the wall, which if my autistic son had found, would likely have caused him an injury. Luckily, we watch our children at all times. In the same bathroom is the master switch for the heating (i presume) literally hanging off the wall. In an area that would get moist!! Seriously - how the hell is this place still operating. On entering, the clock was open and had no batteries - this is in the bedroom with the teeny tiny telly. To the garden, which is advertised as private, its not. The people above us could see everything we were doing. There were old ride on toys in the garden and it looked like a ghostly view of Chernobyl just after the fall out occurred. Bathroom connected to the bedroom - the blind chord was right down to the floor. Kids are known to hang on these!!!!  The gate to the dock behind does NOT LOCK. Children can easily make their way through whilst parents backs are turned, even for a second. The advert on booking.com states for the room we had - a balcony - again - i have video evidence of this. If anyone would like to see the videos before they book - please feel free to contact me through this site. I want to help others avoid this place - it is disgraceful it is still being advertised. I have put a video on a well known video sharing website (use the name of this property), apparently I cant mention it or put a link as that's against TripAdvisors rules, but letting a property not fit for dogs is ok. 👏👏👏 to you TripAdvisor. Oh, TripAdvisor also allow this owner to put derogatory and discriminatory language against children. Again......👏👏👏TripAdvisor! For every time TripAdvisor takes this down as the owner keeps reporting it, I will put it back up again.

I'm not even going too read what nastiness you've wrote this time.. But I will say all my properties are pat tested and I have the certificates too prove it,, I have awards for constant good reviews and have over 130 genuine reviews on booking. Com and an award.. All those reviews are from guests that have actually stayed at the boat yard. Yes your malious behavior has affected my buisness greatly so I hope your now happy...... And too any potential guests reading this.. Please read all the other reviews on air Bnb and booking. Com, those sites only alow guests too write reviews, not just any one,, like this site..

Relaxing appartment with river views
Slipway cottage has everything you need for a break, easy walking distance to Appledor centre and quay, beach a short drive away, helpful owner, pots pans towels and a patio overlooking the river, lovely for breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening! Thanks Jan!

Holiday at Appledore
Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Devon The accommodation was very comfortable with all amenities catered for. We shall come again.

really loverly holiday
had a great time, very friendly people,great accommodation with a very nice and helpful owner.very dog friendly area with loads to see and do without too much driving.

Very cosy and considerate
We had a very pleasant stay in the Garden Apartment during a cold weekend in february and it was a welcome and cosy place to come back to after a bracing day out! In a brilliant location close to the centre and the coast path, it’s ideal for ramblers and families alike. The layout is considerate and accessible and we wanted for nothing. The owner was most helpful with excellent communication. We would recommend.

Lovely setting, lovely views and very helpful owner
I stayed at the Boat Yard Slip Way between Christmas and the New Year, I woke up to amazing views of the river Dart estuary from the 2nd floor balcony. It's very spacious and has a lovely separate 2nd floor sitting room accessed from a staircase from the kitchen - has more of a house rather than flat feel. It's dog-friendly and Janice the owner couldn't be more helpful.

You are in the middle of a working boat yard On the edge of the small fishing village of appledore,,, bideford a small port town is just five minutes by car, or the lovely sea side town of westward ho 5 mins drive, or from here watch the fisher men unload there catch, twice a day at high tide, then the tide gos out and the river, becomes home to all kinds of wild fowl, lovely location, for all the family, or rent both my appartment s, sleep ten in total, and have, the garden flat as well as the other with two balconies looking over the river,
