Great over night stay with view of estuary
Perfect for what we needed! Really spacious river view app set over 2 floors with lovely views over the estuary sat in lounge on comfy sofas watching the tides change and the sun set-perfect! It Is at a working boat yard so bit worried might be noisy but wasn't,you need to look behond that and appreciste the views! Had we had better weather would've been lovely 2 eat breakfast on balcony! Only about 10-15 mins walk into appledore and 5 mins drive to westward ho & bideford. Comfy beds & fully equipped apartment so much nicer than just having 1 room in a hotel great for familys would def stay again

Never again
We booked through booking.com. we stayed in the ground floor apartment .Very disappointed thankfully it was only 2 nights .Like the previous review, we never had hot water, The shower was dangerous, either boiling hot or freezing cold. The noise from the apartment was awful, like a herd of elephants running about, The fridge smelt like something had died in it. The patio slabs were uneven,The whole place could do with a total make over. The owner was unsympathetic and very rude.

Disappointed
I was very disappointed with this property and agree with previous reviews. It is not in a very nice area certainly not a holiday area. Quite a way from Appledore. The property is tired and in need of repair. I will say it is very clean. There was no hot water and when I contacted the owner she advised to check the switch for the water and heating hadn't been turned off by mistake as it is upside down on the wall in small toilet. We did turn it on but it never heated up enough only luke warm. Decided to look for accommodation elsewhere and left after one night of a three night stay. Would not recommend this property.

Weekend stay that turned out as 1 night
My partner and I wanted a last minute get away. We found this and immediately booked it. After reading some reviews I emailed the owner asking for advice on the area, confirm what was provided, etc as we are both not from the area. On arrival we still had no contact from the owner, after the third time we managed to get through and we were give the key code… later did we find out we were given the wrong one as we had booked into a different property of the owners. The area is stunning, locals fabulous, host very disappointing. After less that 24hrs the owner emailed stating she had double booked and we needed to vacate now as the cleaner was outside! As you can imagine this was a shock, and ruined our day.
We moved non the less, quickly and quietly and booked last minute Accom miles away… which then had a impact on our evening plans. The owner struggled to apologise and still to offer any compensation.
Fully recommend the area- beautiful, would not recommend the apartments, unreliable, bad comms, no welcome package.

Disappointed
I would reiterate the comments below. Spot on description - very disappointed. Spacious accommodation but several areas need attention and some fixtures and fittings need updating/replacing.

Not what i expected
This was one of the most disappointing bookings i have ever made
the location was terrible - you are not in the village, you are not even in a street , you are sandwiched between Wet fish Factory and rusting outbuildings of the huge warehouse next door and opposite scrapyard/garage, 15mins outside of appledore
the view is limited to say the least - yes you can see some water if you ignore the industrial landscape around the house
the internal accommodation was mismatched bits of furniture and it would be a push to take 6 guests - there are only 4 chairs
Yes it was warm, yes it was dry and it did have wifi but those are the only good things i can say about it.
Sorry - but if you are working at the shipbuilding yard next door or the wet fish factory, possibly good accomodation. But definitely not for a perfect relaxing holiday in beautiful Devon.

Wonderful views from balconies
We loved the balconies and the big glass windows so we could watch the tide changing and all the boating activity. Lovely living room and kitchen, both cosy, comfortable and attractively furnished. Bedrooms a bit more basic but did the job and very quiet at night. Everywhere extremely clean. Plenty of hot water and a good shower.
Easy walk into Appledore with lots of little shops and cafes etc. and a very short drive to Westward Ho and a big sandy beach.
Would recommend taking your own sharp knife as the ones in the flat are probably due for replacement soon.
